Sites copying my content - What to do??

    Hi Everyone,
I would appreciate any advice on what to do; I have about a 1/2 dozen sites who have copied entire pages off my website.

I don't want to lose SERPS due to duplicate content. Is there anyway to notify Google of the fact the content is mine? (I suspect they know by the cache dates already)

    Thanks for any advice

Just accept it, that's the nature of internet. Try to imagine the undefeated life of piracy on the internet

dont worry about losing SERP, Google is enough smart to know yours are original, and yours will be top 1 for these keys

if you dont like they copy, just leave a message to owner/host

There is no much you can do. Some sites use autoscript to copy content. You can try to write to the owner of the site and tell them to not copy your content.

There is not much you can do then send a nice email to those that copy you. I had a friend that made a lawsuit and it didnt help a thing.

Make your content work as an advert for your site even if someone else steals it.

    Great idea.

I upload alot of videos to Youtube as per social networking trends, other sites copy the Youtube videos, including comments, tags and descriptions , so I put in links to my pages inside my uploaded Youtube video descriptions.

This means I get Youtube backlinks, as well as the backlinks from people copying my content when they copy the Youtube videos.

Basically, they work for me, advertising and pushing my site higher up the search results!

Is this a true statement or an opinion. Not trying to start a debate, but this is a topic of concern for me too.

It's not true. There's no guarantee you'll be credited with it even if you post it first. ALL forums are LITTERED with people making EXACTLY that complaint.

DMCA Take Down Notice should work, if that doesn't I would suggest contacting a attorney and letting them know and take the advice they give you.
