They will have no feedback. The countries that don't have access to PayPal are so few... https://www.paypal.com/worldwide/
In that case, a full fledged in-house escrow service is the solution. Something like they have in freelancer.com (We already have a the ability to deposit funds into our DP account for advertising).
Pretty much what you said. I'm busy enough with a huge to-do list already. lol Who do you think is making this stuff (this is just recent stuff I've done): http://forums.digitalpoint.com/advertising.php http://tools.digitalpoint.com/tracker.php http://tools.digitalpoint.com/phonehome.php http://tools.digitalpoint.com/javascript_compressor.php http://marketplace.digitalpoint.com/ http://articles.digitalpoint.com/content.php?r=12-Sphinx-Search-For-vBulletin-4 Plus all the marketplace stuff, the new Instant Pay stuff, etc. lol Do I want to be the middleman between two idiots fighting over $10, so I can make my $0.10 fee? Not really.
Off the topic a min Shawn, For http://forums.digitalpoint.com/payments.php If I take the one $75 with star eventhough I am not recurring payment will it still work. Just asking to see if you got the logic right anyway ^^
There are alot of good points and bad points. However the purpose of the new hack is to eliminate fake itraders. If you leave the current itraders up somewhere on the users profile it still harms them and the negative that are already given still effect the user. I'm all up for the change because personally Itraders are not that important to me. Ya I have a few negative some earned some not. It does effect business which really sucks. I have alot of people that order from me but getting new members can be a pain because of some undeserved itraders. I think the new idea is great, to make people happy tho would there be a way to maybe do something for the users who have alot of itraders? For example users with over 50 itraders give them a special icon on their profile, just completely wipe out the negatives and go strictly for the positive. So in other words I like the idea of keeping the current itraders but only the positive afterall thats what people look at the most. So just like when you buy a name change that stays on there just put something saying this user had blank itraders. That way people can see who built up a good reputation and this way people who got fake itraders arent harmed with the switch.
So scammers like Gamer316 above would just have everything wiped off, clearly this guy wants his itraders removed because he's scammed so many people, you read through all his threads and lies and you'll see that he's taken so many people for a ride but yet is going to be given the opportunity to do it all over again with a clean slate?? Of course he's "all for keeping positive itraders" as it cleans his slate. I'm all for a new system if it involves actually banning people who rip others off and there is a clear path of negative history available, as the poster above is a prime example of how the system does not work and these spineless cowards will just keep doing it over and over with nothing stopping them.. Will the new system incorporate the ability to have people banned according to there trust levels?
Please make sure you keep the old I-traders up, since people like Gamer316 need to be seen for what they are. He even admitted that he won't send my articles and doesn't dispute I paid him. You can read his admission here...http://forums.digitalpoint.com/itrader_detail.php?ir=554577&u=118474 Gamer316 lessons the value of DP. I agree that banning people based on the level of trust is a great idea. I have been told , by a mod, that DP doesn't ban people for stealing, even when they admit it on DP. I'm not sure why.
I am against this idea. If the itrader is removed how will I know if I am buying/selling to a trusted member? I think you have to at least carry over our current itraders, whether they be positive or negative.
Well I live in that country where PayPal is not available, but I have my partner who handle the payments related to PayPal i never login to that PayPal account, but I take the payments since 2007 and that is why I make so much positive amounts of itrade, so if the new system get operational, i'll get all the itrades remove plus I'll not be able to add/get feedbacks for others, that's not a good idea!
hi Shawn, Interesting that it is phasing out. Question is this instant payment system is independent stand alone system like paypal or just a system to log all transaction done by other systems. If it is a stand alone system than I think to build up trust factor is very important. thanks Sid
