reciprical linking

How effective is reciprical linking still?

If I start a "links" page on the bottom of my website of www.submissionfc.com
and start having other websites in similar niche link to mine and i place a link to them on my "links" page will that still be effective? how does google see that now?

I have been getting alot of emails lately asking for a link exchange and was contemplating weather or not i should start one?

 

One way link may increase your rank much better than link exchange but its not bad to do link exchange in same niche website.

 

so do you think it is worth it for me to do?

 

Google puts less value to reciprocal links. But if people are offering then go for it. Just make sure their Pagerank is equal or close to yours. Also don't link to more than a couple or Google will not like it.

 

One way linking is more effective for a website.

Exchange links or damages or benefits unless the exchange with a bad environment, but there is an indirect benefit of increased traffic...

 

I am planning on only linking back to those who put my link to my website on at least a pr1 website, that way i no google has at least recognized their website as a normal website.

In that case, I guess it doesn't hurt. It's okay, but depending on the website that will be featuring your link... who can say whether or not it will benefit you.

Do reciprocal link but it should match your theme and you shouldn't take much links from reciprocal take a few everyday, I mean include just 5% of your link building campaign.

 

thanks guys! I guess it will do a benefit but not as much as it used to. it shouldn't be a main link building practice of mine but should be in their somewhere, like a couple of you said just get 2 links a day from that.

 

Google discarded the value of Reciprocal Linking. Still Reciprocal links can be effective if: -
1. All the other links present in the link/resource page have similar degree of relevance i.e. pet related site resources page should have heath site's link.
2. If the Number of Links on the resource /links pages are careful moderated and low in number.

 

It depends on you - but don't do it in a manner that it will look obvious you are engaged in link exchage programs
