Boxshot 3D is a great one that you can use for free for a trial. Otherwise Google "free cover action scripts" and you should be able to get some action scripts for free that you can use with photoshop to make easy and professional 3d covers.

Try GIMP. I've used it, and I recommend it.

There are many to choose from. If you have lots of ebooks and are going to use it more than once, then you want something that is flexible. There's a little bit of a learning curve but it will give you the best covers. The problem is that it's not free but they have a free trial. Try this ebook cover software

hi i use a very simple and fast ecover software i really like it and i can do a lot of ecover ,cd , and more type of cover ,i also got many graphics with to use and this help me out creating fantastic , professional ecover fast. The graphics alone are really great and combinig them it's easy and the results are wooh .....you can seewhere i get it here http//:www.buildabusinesswebsitenow.com/easy_e-cover_pro.html . The problem it's always the design of the cover and with this many graphics and any editor ( i use an old photoshop element , but it work with any ..) you can create cover like a pro in no time. i hope the offer it's still on . the learning curve it's next to zero and you can easy edit shadows, reflex , size , and so many thinghs all explain in a 3 min. video. it's very flexible and easy to download your ebook cover on your pc. You can even create an iphone type of cover!

hi , i use easy ecover pro , easy , fast i use now since 2 years and i have done a lot of ebook , great soft desktop style now i find an offer Instant eCover Suite .You get ecover creator , ecover graphics template (fantastic!) more than 600!, a content spinner , 900 articles and an ebook about hoe to market your ebooks full of great tips and secrets i really learn and profit a lt . Because the problem after you get any ecover creator is to create the graphics and even the ebook content .....this solution seems to solve all the problem you may encounter creating ebook , at least this was for me . I create many more ebook , better , faster if you wanna have a look www.buildabusinesswebsitenow.com/easy_e-cover_pro.html , right now ther's an offer and the price is much lower than what i paid some months ago :)::!!!) i sincerly think is a great solution with more than 6 products that cover all the ebook creation quite cheap. Before i use other but than i had to collect graphics and all the rest and i spend too much time to just create the cover and sometimes i had to restart a few time before i got it right. No need of photoshop you can use any free editor like gimp , pain it , easy to save your ecover on your pc.

If none of the info you found here is beneficial you can always outsource. There are plenty of people on fiverr.com who would be happy to do this for you for just 5 bucks. Fiverr is an awesome site I highly recommend it.

There are plenty of eBook cover programs out there, but some people have particular preferences, to trial and error is your best bet

I know this might look out of topic but where do you guys get the image for the ecover?

Is it worthwhile designing it yourself or outsourcing it?
