When this happened with my website before(~6 months ago) the update stuck. I went from PR0 to PR5, back down to PR4 now though.

You mean to say your PR rank moved upto 5 and then came back to 4 on the same PR update ?

has anyone with a new site actually seen PR applied to their site across all the datacentres or the toolbar? I am talking about this update only though, not previously

Not on any of the sites I monitor. It seems to be taking a while to spread to all of the DCs. I'm wondering if we might see a rollback again at some point

The reason I ask is that we launched deeplylinked 3 weeks ago, it was spidered instantly, it has some very nice natural backlinks, and should start off life as a pr3-4 (I have not built any links at all other than in signatures to advertise it.

I know that PR is normally a week or two behind when released, but this seems odd that a couple of new sites I have ALL have no PR. when were your new sites first sipered?

    Cheers Matt.

This PR update seems to be from more than just a couple of weeks back. A few people are seeing evidence it is from information closer to 4 weeks back.

WOW. That's pretty lucky. You must have some "bigshot(s)" linking to you. I had that on one of my sites due to just 1 inbound link. Besides, your site looks really cool. I like the colors and the layout (nevermind the content, which looks good too).

Oh, and according to Matt Cutts, not all the data centers will get the PR.

Yep, that would fit in with what I see as well. Don't get me wrong, I realy don't care about it as far as My sites are concerned, as I do not charge to go into the directories, do not sell links, and have no problem getting backlinks thankfully because I am known as being a straight guy.

I just like to know what Google is up to, it is my job :p LOL

I'm actually guessing the PR is 6-8 weeks old based on new sites that have been launched as well as other factors. I guess I could sit down and work it out exactly, but it hardly seems worth it!

I am seeing right around six weeks from my own sites as well, but much like you, it just doesn't seem worth it to sit down and figure it out exactly. ;)
