Newbie Challenge-How I want To Make $1,000 In 6Months

Hello Forumites,
My name is Oke Timothy, a 19 year Old boy. My challenge is to make $1,000 per month in the next 6 months. I have stayed long enough on this forum and my post and join date tells you that I have been lucking around this forum without doing anything so I felt seeing other people push you up the ladder will really inspire you so here is my Challenge. I will be very plain here, my niches and everything that I will be doing will be openly discuss and I plead with the gurus in the house to please pardon my foolishness in some areas and correct me where I go wrong. I will need all your help to take me to where I want to be.

WHY DO I WANT TO MAKE $,1000?
I have responsibility and I have to give back to people that have provided for me all through my life when I cannot provide my needs. I owe them a return. I want to be able to care for other people so having more money will definitely help me achieve this. I want to be self sufficient, I don't want others to take on my financial responsible and many more.
All the above pretty describe why I want to pa the price to make the said amount monthly after 3 months.

HOW DO I WANT TO ACHIEVE THIS?
I want to setup a health article directory. The USP (unique selling proposition) of the site is that it will be a revenue sharing site. We will actually pay our writers for quality articles. I plan to setup adsense and other revenue sharing ads servers to pay our writers like squidoo and other big names do. We will accept only quality articles and no less but we wil make sure that our writers get value. I will personally work on the seo so that we can as fast as possible get organic traffic but more than that, I need your help for traffic, exposure, publicity. I know you will not let me down. I have not fully understood how all the things will work together but I know that with your help, things will get dressed up and become a success.

WHAT I DONE ALREADY?
I have bought a domain name this morning for $10 and also hosted with a webhosting company in Nigeria. I will begin to work on it right away. The domain name is superhealtharticles(dot)com and I will use the wordpress article directory plugin and theme to get it ready. Like I said, the niche will be Health Articles so I know I have a tough job ahead. The job will be hectic but I am determined to see it through

HOW OFTEN WILL I UPDATE THIS CHALLENGE?
Every time I do something, I will write about it and ask for your opinions and advise. If you have done something similar, please hand me by my hands and teach me the way. Thanks for your help!

CONCLUSION?
The challenge has started and in 3 months, I want to be able to make $1,000 per month. Do you think it sis possible? Let me have your opinions and advice. Thanks for your help in advance.

Anything is possible, I started a blog 3 months ago and get around 2k visits a day I don't make near 1k a month from it.
The key is to focus on quality traffic.

 

At this point I've started riding a lolacoster and realized that his things is just another traffic scam . I do admit that it's the best one so far . And that I can't report it as spam .

 

Good luck, you plan to earn $1k in 3 or 6 months? Your tittle says 6 months and in post u mentioned 3 months. May be you should also try other business models with your directory business?

First I wouldn't have taken a host in nigeria, but if it is your only option, ok.

Secondly, I think $1000 per month in 6 months starting from scratch is a little ambitious, but it's good to set high goals also.

If I think you can do it? Well I don't know you, but I'm guessing no. Of course you can make money, but not I don't think you can reach your $1000 a month goal within 6 months.
It is possible to do I guess, but not for most people just starting. So that's why I say not possible, because I have more chances to be right. But maybe you're one of the fews who can achieve it and then I'll be wrong, we'll see.

One advice if you want is to start immediatly creating another domain name for your own blog. On this blog you will do exactly what you wrote you'll do on this thread: report everytime you do something towards your goal. You can post on this thread as well as on your blog (maybe on your blog a few days before, then post here).

That way you'll have a second possibility to earn money via your blog, every little bit will help achieve your goal in 6 months because it is a little bit ambitious as I said.

Thanks to everyone that has responded to this thread. The first thing I want to clarify is the fact that
1) I'm not an affiliate marketer and I'm not trying to promote anything
2) I'm not affiliated with the webhosting service I use and will not even mention its name
3) I started this thread because I want people to actually watch my back, correct me and help me along the way. I'm just 19 so I know I have alot of things to learn.

On starting another blog, I'm looking at the possibilities. Maybe very soon, I'll start a blog to document my progress. Thanks everyone for your words of encouragement. I really appreciate it.
UPDATE
I'm still working at the back office of my website to make sure everything is working fine. The next problem will be how to get people to submit to a PR0 revenue sharing article directory. Please if you have overcome this in your initial stage, help me out. I really need help.
Once my office/website is working fine, the next thing will be to have articles/authors submit and after a time, sign up for adsense and others. Once again, thanks everyone.

I have a suggestion about the initial promotion, it is to include a referral system in your site, look at how I do it on mine. This is very important because without a referral program you'll be on your own for ever. If you have an INTERESTING referral program you will see good reviews and articles about your site coming from places you never knew about.

 

Assuming you're not self campaigning then from what i can see you're a Nigerian . Now if you target the population of your country then you know that you're gonna be able to build the traffic quickly . It won't be a premium traffic but you're not shooting for the moon 1000 USD in 6 months is an achievable goal . It will also shield you from much of the global competition giving you the upper hand .

My suggestion is that you focus on the national and regional economic opportunities . Also implementing some local dialects in your websites ill provide the upper edge . You are there and you're understanding of the people and what they want is far better then the ones of your global competitors . Use this to your advantage.

If you're gonna go globally or target the US/EU prepare for hell . The competition is more then fierce and you'll have to shine in every way to get a stable revenue . It will take top notch graphics , mind sucking content , constant SEOing and more marketing then Coca-Cola to succeed . Failing that enough luck to win the lottery twice and one good idea will also do the job , unfortunately you can't buy luck .

 

it's not $1000 in 6 month, it's $1000 per month in 6 months ("My challenge is to make $1,000 per month in the next 6 months."). With nigerian traffic he will get about $0 per month or so. How many people use internet other than for scamming in nigeria?
It's important not to make the mistake or going local/national if the pool of advertisers on adwords is not there. Better do a good research about this first!
If he was from France, Italia, Spain, Germany, etc. OK your advice would be very good, but we are talking about Nigeria.. better double-check the internet population and online advertizers.

 

Thanks everyone for giving your advice. Firstly, my goal is to make $1,000 consistently after 6months. That means I have 6 months to get the system in place and then make the money every month.

@wwwsenserlycom, I have check your link in the morning and I will give it a thorough checking again. I used wordpress article directory to set the directory up because I don't have money and don't know a thing about programming. My strong point is that I can follow simple instructions and can understand guides well. So, that means everything that I will do must be simple enough. This is why this challenge is more difficult. I can't outsource cos there's no money to do that. I just gotta work my butts off.

If there's a way to do referral with the directory, I'll be glad. I'll keep searching for guides over the internet. Once I get a few articles coming in, I'll implement new strategy.

It's good that you have a goal like that, and we're the same thing. I have been a freelancer for over a year, but not making $1,000 a month yet. My income is not really stable, but at least a minimum of $100 to $200 to be exact. I'm now getting focused to be a real and experienced internet marketer, and I have spend months on studying and experimenting methods to make money. I still have to make a sale on any affiliate program, but I did made a few bucks on cost-per-action (CPA) programs, but not that stable. If we really want to earn $1,000 a month, all we need is to work hard and don't be lazy to study everything in order to put it in real action.

Yeah that's right! Action speaks louder than words. We're doing anything for big bucks here, and that's where we came for even if we are still struggling.

Good to know you have a goal similar to mine. Crossing the first hurdle is the most difficult. Once that's done, the rest will be rinse and repeat. If we can pay the sacrifice, we can be successful.

UPDATE
I have been checking for the best adsense revenue sharing plugin but yet to find one that suits me. Once I find and I install it, I'll activate the revenue sharing function on the website. The problem for now is I'm looking for people that'll share their health articles to the directory. I'm still doing my assignment and once things get running, I'll be back to update. Enjoy your day! @ wwwSENSERELYcom : I don't know the Internet statistics for Nigeria but whit 125 million people there must be a several million users . Since oil , telecommunications and banking companies invest so much in international TV publicity they probably invest a nice amount in Internet marketing as well . 1000$ USD in 6 months isn't that hard but it sure won't be easy .

Good morning, it's a privilegde to see another day like this. I had a hectic day yesterday. I went to work after writing my last update and went to add article to my article directory. I got some MRR ebooks and dissected them. In all, I now have like 14 articles submitted.

Google has not indexed the website after sending pings two times using pingomatic. I don't yet know why but I feel that since I don't have any backlink yet, Google'll not find a link to the site. What I'll do this morning is this;
1) I'll use a tool that creates like 2500 "who.is" and "about" pages and submit my site. I'll just create 50 pages so that google'll not suspect any foul play.
2) I'll create more articles on my health directory and finally,
3) I'll signup to google webmaster and probably install a site map plugin but easy scrawling of the site.
4) Submit more and more articles...

So, I'll have another day of serious work and as always, please I need your help and encouragement. PEACE!

UPDATE:
I'm glad to announce that I have gotten the big G to index my site after sending pings and creating a webmaster account. I'm so happy because the journey for the top spot has just began.

The only problem is that I'm yet to figure out what to rank for. Why? Because I'm targeting two things.
1) Authors that will write for revenue
2) Health articles that'll rank high. Please what do I do? At the time, I also want webmaster to come to the directory and pick up health articles. How do I place it? What should I rank for?

The next thing to do is to begin to submit my articles to social bookmarking service. I've already posted 27 articles to the directory.

I think a referral system would be helpful for you a bit further on. So you should consider that.
