I am brand new to DP.

I really like what the forum is about, I love the topics covered, and I think the posting rules and points are a great idea.

I have one problem: The fact that a link cannot be posted until a certain time frame is serverly hampering my posts! Don't you have moderators who can regulate bogus links posted (you must have plenty)? Or maybe even add permissions after 5 posts. Why do I have to wait a certain amount of time?

This is the only thing I don't like about DP. If I didn't have to wait to post in the link exchange area, trust me this is enough to annoy me and I wouldn't be back to DP. It makes me feel like my posts are not important, because I have not hung out long enough on your boards.

Before you jump all over this post (and I know people will), just remember I am new to boards, and an ideal candidate to get more people to visit the board is usability. (I read all the time that boards are trying to attract users)

This is constructive criticism, and I know that you do this for a reason (because it cuts down on the bogus urls posted). I am just giving feedback that I really don't like this (not being able to add a url in the post) permission being denied in the beginning (you can check my posts, there are reasons I want to be able to post a URL).

Other than this reason, DP has great posts and information that many webmasters can use daily. Nice forum! ;)

You have to contribute to build this place... One has to show that they are serious in building this place, not just leech.. hence a time lag. I think its must to have a time lag..

Thanks for your feedback, but I am contributing. There are other means to keep one in DP forum, like not being able to post in certain categories, and giving more permissions for more posts and time in the forum.. Leeches can be moved, banned, or blocked. They can also be ganged up on. I have a legitimate complaint! This post asked for feedback, and that is what I gave.

I understand that I have to wait for my signature URL, no problem. But when I am trying to help people in posts, and I can't put a URL because I haven't been here for 2 weeks. That is a problem.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I tried to enter my url like this: ww.forums.digitalpoint.com but it woudn't let me. I was thinking, that by not putting the http:// on the url, it would not link. Had to take one the the w's off.

How long do I have to wait for permissions to add a url? 2 weeks?

I'm too lazy to read through the whole thing so I dunno if this has already been suggested.

One thing I'd like to see, especially from the point of new of a new user, is a sticky in each section with answers to FAQs and also resources for people new to this. I mean, I'd love to find info about my personal weakness: Getting people to my site. I can make a site all nice and pretty, and have good content, and all that but I can't get people to it. So I'd love to be able to go in to the general marketing section of the forum and have there be a sticky there with all the FAQs, resources to good posts or articles showing how to get traffic to your site. Also make sure its split between free solutions and paid solutions, because some people like me just starting out don't have any money to put in to this.

I know about the FAQ but really that doesn't give much beyond really really basic forum info and adsense stuff I already know about.

If there is such a place I apologize for my suggestion and would ask someone to point me in the direction of it.

    Thanks for reading,
    HH
