Has anyone had any good experiences with Scriptlance on large projects? I dont mean a small logo or php fix, I am talking about a $1,000+ job. I have been screwed 2 times in a row on that site, and both with programmers with good feedback. Both programmers bid on the project and after several extensions they could not complete in time (i gave one guy a 60 day extension and he still couldnt get it done). It has been the biggest money and time waster I have experienced. Anyone else have any stories?
I've had nothing but the worst experience with ScriptLance, in all honesty. Check out Get A Coder. (The link is in my signature.) The program is a lot better. Good luck.
With Scriptlance you have to actually act the webmaster and get the project done in bits and pieces. If you leave a huge project all to one person, good chance you will get screwed. It's happen to me before and I had to file a dispute with Paypal. I sent paypal all the conversations via scriptlance and yahoo messanger that I had with the programmer, and Paypal gave me back half. Hope that helps.
I never give any money in advance. Sure you waste some time but i never give them money in advance. I tell them hey you want the work i give you money when you are done. Thats the only way to do it beucase to many are there to just make problem. The problem is they never check duplicate people and people just come back after got kick out. They should FORCE them to use a REAL email like yourdomain.com or something. I think the problem is with all freelance website.
Yeah i mean if you are in to website doing and webmaster blog or what ever i am SURE 99 % have a website. Or @ least they can get one for 9$ with a free email account.
scriptlance is not good for big projects. better try elance.com for it But if you still want to use scriptlance, choose the programmers with lots of reviews only and certified programmers scriptlance is excellent for small and cheap projects.
Sure i am just now using it for 3 smaller projects. 1 failed 1 is on the working and 1 is finished. So 1 of 3 i guess the one in working i do not think he will do it.
heh well i've been using it for over half a year and probably well over 100 projects, but at the beginning it was a mess, i was ripped a couple times, but i figured quickly how to choose good programmers, so now it's a great place
I must admit they were quick to act when I asked that my escrow funds be returned. But it was such a waste of time. I would have paid DOUBLE if I could have just got the project done on time.
RentACoder has been good to me. As a coder i've gotten many jobs done.. but sometimes buyers stiff you as well. I'd suggest you offer your project in chunks, rather all at once.
Agreed. I use it for small fixes to code and stuff like that and couldn;t be happier. Very cheap also. Helps to have a good feedback, since I can filter out all the newbies and only ask experienced programmers to bid on my projects
I have been trying to make money on ScriptLance recently as I have an interest in trying to make some cash on the side through the site, but so far it has proven difficult. I landed a $95 project of a Wordpress design recently, but other than that I haven't had any responses. A decent site, but you really need to be part of the website/community for it to work in your favor.
