301 permanent redirect

    I have 2 websites.and each of them have a pr 3.

    Now i want to Marge these 2 websites and want to use a new url.

    so if i set 301 permanent redirect to new website from both old site ,

    how many days it will take to get pr on new website?

    I, for one, have not witnessed this first hand since Caffeine, but here is a good example of how long PR takes to flow through 301's just over a year ago. Now it's even faster so I would suspect days instead of two weeks. You won't really know until you see changes in the SERPs as the toolbar PR probably won't update for at least another month or two.

    Hi Not sure of the time but if you follow the best practice as below you can get results in 3-4 months:

    1. Do not just redirect old domain to new domain, map each page of old site to appropriate page on new site.
    2. Notify Google about the domain change using Google webmaster tool.

    301 is Good practice but it will take time to get PR, You should buy some old domain name for your website...
