Hi, I have a directory. It is live snce 9 months and it is PR2. When i was researching i saw that it is slower then google webmaster tools are expecting for a website. I thought that slow loading might effect the PR or google position and i deleted some images and also the logo (about 26KB). Here is my question; is it good to remove the logo and write website's name or to place the logo back? Which one gains me a better ranking for a higher PR? Meanwhile, my website is Premium Web Directory. Waiting for your recommendations.
Deleting a logo to reduce page loading time sounds silly. Compress the size of your logo - open the image in PhotoShop, and "Save for Web & Devices..." Page loading has no impact on your PR - PR is a simple algorithm, calculated based on link count and authority. Page loading does have a small impact on your SERP's. This is however one of many, many other factors that Google's algorithm takes into account. If you want to move up in the SERP's, you're better off targeting more dominant factors of Google's algorithm - such as link building. On-page optimization can only help so much. 'luck!
I will just say that design does matter in a directory. I took quick look at your latest listings also and you have bigger problems than just the design vs load time. Editing is non-existent.
Editing is non-existent because the site offers instant approval. Where is the site hosted? High quality hosting should have decent load time.
It is not auto approval directory. I am editing the submissions by hand. I may be missing some points. I am hosting it on Hostgator. I am quite happy with it. I am open to any hosting suggestions, if there is any.
