I received a travel article about Bangkok, I read part way of the article, and had to rush out, so I added the article to my blog. A few days later Google indexed in the new blog article in it's search results.

I noticed within a few days of the article being indexed that I was getting some unsavoury visitors via dodgy keywords, like "prostitute bangkok" and other x-rated keywords!

I quickly realised that in the article there was a section on "ladys of the night" in Bangkok, and whilst the extra traffic was great, the people who were visiting were either looking for ladies in Bangkok, or videos of ladies in Bangkok working!!

I removed the article - the last thing I wanted was the blog to be known for helping people find "ladys of the night" abroad!

So lesson learnt, read any content you add to your blog before you post it!

I would agree that is good advice. You definately don't want content in your blog you dont approve of. Why would you add something you have not checked?

Everyone makes mistakes Lenny - it's learning from the mistakes that's important.

I'd never do that again, but I bet theres some people who have read this post and have done exactly what I have.

Nothing extraordinary - about an extra 100-150 visitors in a few days.

Sorry if you misunderstood me. I wasn't faulting you for making the mistake. I was mearly wondering how that it could happen. Was it, as somebody suggested, you paid someone to write for you?
