Big shame for the 3rd most powerful nation Let's take the first part of that statement Big shame India has done it yet again, faltered at the first opportunity to host a big ticket sports event. It's rotting with evidences of corruption, brazen hushing up of it by the high and mighty. And now, the games village is stinking with human and animal excreta. Here is a video. I watched it lie on TV yesterday, so don't ask me if there is some mismatch in this piece. Now to the second part the 3rd most powerful nation What a hoax @#!? And what a shame US had to rate India as the 3rd most powerful nation on this day. Here is the link. Wish, if only US could rank India on top for corruption !@#? What a shame.
Where there is power there is corruption .... even US has corruption so whats ur point.. dont worry wait and watch how the games go a hit
The guy mentioned the 3rd most powerful nation a hoax...Don't go hard on the guy...India can't be the 3rd most powerful nation right now, maybe in the next 20-50 years.
The point here is India didnt say its the 3rd most powerful nation but US is the person who said it if you have problems with that contact them dont talk shit abt india
Well they still have 11 days to complete the entire project . But I guess that the turn up will be poor since no athlete wants to stay in a place where they "just wiped the shit off" . The 3rd most powerful nation makes me chuckle . India has enough problems on it's own bolstering that it's a superpower will only get laughed at . I will get you the same treatment that China gets for bawing that no one respects them . At this moment Holland is more of a superpower then India .
Corruption: http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-bell-arrest-20100922,0,3284777.story I never knew that superpower was a relative concept lol. I don't think India is a superpower, there's only one superpower and thats US. Now ofcourse if one was going to argue about which country is more powerful we would consider things like size of economy, influence at international forums like UN, Climate Summits and WTO, military, nuclear arsenal etc - In all that India's a far cry from Holand, or any European country for that matter.
I was just saying . It irritates me when people claim that their better then you even thou they're in deep shit - literally . Russia is by miles the second most powerful country after the US but I haven't hear even a squeak from them . Everyone knows their strength and respects them abut you've never heard them yelling and chest-beating fake statements . Meanwhile , the festering boil of the world , China yells at the UN that their NUMABER ONNES and that everyone should worship their dick . And on this bandwagon of stupidity you can find India , piss poor Nigeria (major lulz on this one) , Brazil and even South Africa .
China Yes, but I haven't heard of any other country behaving like that. Maybe you can share with us what makes you think so? Lobbying for a Permanent seat in the security council, more say in formulation of WTO rules or such things don't mean " yelling at the UN that their NUMABER ONNES and that everyone should worship their dick".
Its absolutely outrageous. The radio news in NZ features updates on which athletes (country, sport) are pulling out and how our athletes are watching to see if theres any point in turning up. My friends father was in India for 18 months overseeing the development of one of the arenas. If western input was requested and granted then why weren't the locals able to meet the international standards? Commonwealth Games chief rushing to New Delhi Why is the "chief" not there already? The commonwealth hangs by a thread and the games are pretty much the only visible benefit the ordinary person sees. To have them reduced to a farce leaves the whole concept of commonwealth degraded.
Vehemently attacking the UN at a UN Global Warming conference whit questions like "Why does the UN exist ?" "Who is the UN to advise China ?" and a whole lot more profanities until the Chef UN Negotiator runs off whit tears is . China's behavior is keep behind close doors usually . Often the governments of the countries I mentioned put up batshit crazy statements in their own little countries or in private .
lol! that's how we work here, govt. relied on the OC to complete the task and the a** h*** Kalmadi and Co were so busy in corruption that they didn't realize their corruption would delay the works post date, they expected a patch up which might fall over after commonwealth games, but the stage over here looks like the games might fall over even before kicking off Anyhow the PMO stepped in, it should have been done when the corruption charges were rocketing 3 months back, if they had - the current scenario would have been much better. If the players are reluctant to come to India then it's their private matter, got nothing to argue about especially when these athletes aren't paid a higher ransom (just to bring audience and sponsors)like they are done to attract at various events over the world. about corruption, its every where - its just a superior body has to take control when it reals crosses the pt. I dear say and feel sorry for the current OC on their position after this CWG, Indians are furious and they are going to face real heat athletes need not worry about security, as they would be living similar to prisoners - where they would be totally cut off with the outside world at least when they are on their official visit, about a common man can't guarantee security as no place in the world is safe for them
Just so long as you are happy to be seen that way I guess. I'd be so embarrassed if my country found itself in this situation. Individually you can't do much about corruption but collectively you can change the way things work. Collectively the Indian people appear to collude with the corrupt. There are degrees of safety and I was fortunate to be in Rarotonga on the last night of the Pacific Games last year. I'd say those athletes were safe. Visitors to NZ for the Rugby World Cup will be safe. Even visitors to London for the Olympics will be safe during daylight hours and generally safe after dark too. Oh, and since the overbridge collapsed, and the roofs have collapsed its not so safe even within the games compounds! Different concept of safety but still!
The basic tenets of just society are honesty, duty conscience, patriotism and the like and everyone that has at least one of these will work like a clock without needing to be prodded. The moment you seek intervention from higher ups, you are acknowledging the absence of the pedestals of your just society and frustration. In the end, you will face the danger of having no place left out when the PMO frustrates you.
Joke of the day: Son: You know dad, this is going to be the best Commonwealth Games for India ever. Papa: Really! Why do you feel so? Son: because India will win lots and lots of medals. Papa. Oh, how can you say that? Son: because the way things are going, no other country will be sending its athletes to India.
u r safe in the NZ r AUS as u are basically away from PAK region, we are just bordered with PAK - so the security levels can't be compared. I agree there are flaws in our security but our situation can't be compared to nations away from Afghan-Pak region we are of course not happy and plz don't talk about embarrassment as our OC aren't even ashamed at the current un-hygine conditions, but there is nothing we could do at the moment, we can't go and build the platforms, corruption has rooted into genes and its quite hard to remove them, when the top officials are corrupt u could hardly do anything as they are the ones whom u have to complaint when a lower level officer is corrupt roofs have collapsed because of heavy rains (probably not yet completely ready) in New Delhi, it still puzzles me how India chose October for conducting CWG, its the rainy season over here, they should have opted Nov r Dec that would have got them 1 issue lesser to worry about
so wat do u say ? leave the corrupted officials to still take the hold of the task and make it more embarrass the nation ? u can't expect the PMO to step in always
