I seem to not know what original content is...gimme examples.

I've had so many websites with "original content" and they all ended dead...so i might now know what OC is.

Anything you write yourself without copying from another source is original content. Nothing mysterious about that.:)

Unique content on a site is just one element considered by google when ranking any particular site. The $$$ is in the niche you are targeting and the amount of traffic you are generating.

Every content that you write yourself without copying it from someone else is called original content... the value of original content is far much greater then just cpying and changing it.

I think just get a concept of your subject on which your website built for and then write content without help of internet, it would be the original one..

    Hi,
Original content is that you wrote some information in your own idea and not just copying to the idea or thought of others..
content is information and experiences that may provide value for.

To be considered original content you really need to check the text in a site like Copyscape. People can claim the text is original because they have spun a plr or rewrite article so that there are a couple of original statements in say 300-400 words - that does not make it original content.

To be considered original under academic standards you are not allowed more than 15% quoted or copied text and personally I work to get under that when providing copy for my clients - Best way to write original content? Read the source article, THEN PUT IT AWAY, and then write your article on the same topic. Better yet read a minimum of three source docs and then write your text on the topic you are working on.

Original content should be 100% original but nine times out of ten on the internet that is not the case. So my other piece of advice would be if you want original articles, web content, ebooks, reports or anything like that hire a reputable writer, pay them a decent price for their time and they can do it for you - otherwise write it yourself.

    My 2cents, lol

My photodictionary is original content, but by the nature of the beast quite a few of the entries will be very similar to Wikipedia or for that matter, any other dictionary site. I've written them all myself - it is effectively either a very very condensed and simplified version of Wikipedia, or an expanded and simplified common dictionary, with each entry barely 100 words. Either way, definitely original.

I've never bothered running the site through copyscape to see if the filter of my brain and fingers is actually a good enough filter to produce original content :) My other sites are very graphics-heavy and I know those are original because I drew them. One has user-submitted content though so who knows where that originally came from.

The 'best' original content is your own experiences, in your own words, preferably in a style of writing that is entertaining in some way so people come back to read your new entries.

One way that I use to create original content is to read 2-3 articles that relate to what I am writing my article on. Then I write my article without referring back to those articles. I find that the ideas stay in my head, but the way I write them is completely different from the original authors and it ends up being very unique.

Of course if you use any stats or unique facts, you should cite your sources. You can just put the site name or link in parenthesis next to the quote or put a number next to it and list your sources at the bottom of the article.

    Hi,

In my own experiences, original contents might be helpful for achieving a nice PR but would not help more for SERP purpose. Search engines would like fresh contents more, IMO. :)

    all the best,

in SE world, maybe Original content is just content that SE cannot notice that it's duplicated. beyond that it can be real original or rewrite content.

Original content is anything that is passed by Copyscape ;) That's how most people online look at it anyway!
