    hello ,

Why most people use short urls with twitter when the 140 characters are enough to write and put the site's full Url

Quite often affiliate links are much longer than a regular URL so it is very helpful there.

Its good in a way to reduce the texts in the message.. With the limitations of number of texts in twitter.

Also sites like bit.ly give you stats on the amount of clicks on your links.

Kanundra is right, a lot of tweeters want to track the clicks they get from a certain site to help them know which site responds more.

I usually write a short URL, so that I've enough space to write some sort of description beside it
I never put URLs alone without any sort of text around them

If i used to post my full url , i could not able to convey my message. Thats why urls are shortened.

use short ulr to hide ur link or afiliate. if ur url is long then twitter would short it automatically and if ur affiliate is tweeted, you will short it to keep high conversion.

not when you consider most people use twitter via text messaging.. their limits match carriers limits on texts.

Agree with all and also short links are little bit tricky. For example you advertise your website to get a lot of traffic. But in truth your content isn't that good. But you are great marketer and you wrote stunning title for your link in Twitter. People read it, they are interested and they follow this link, cuz they don't know that you advertise your own website. Long link may have a keyword in a tale, or people simply see the name of your site in url and they won't go there if they have no need.
But short link will help you to attract more visitors especially if you can create "loud" titles.

I would agree with this, not much point in posting a URL if noone knows what its about!

The entire short URL library has a single method of interests, shortURL shorten. Simply give it a url you want shortened and it returns a string with the shortened URL. It could not be any easier.
