I know that many people do very well with sites like Blogger, Hubpages, Squidoo, etc... but ask yourself - are you trying to make a quick buck, or build a business for a lifetime? Quick example: Paid $10 for an exact domain match - put up a Wordpress blog on my own hosting ... within days it was on the first page of Google for the keyword, (Now it's number one), here I am a few months later, and today I looked at the stats... a tad over 300 visitors came last month, and my affiliate income from last month is $39.89 from just that one site. Now, of course, I don't see the money until the end of the quarter - but the point is, the $10 I spent has been recovered in just one month. Now, I'm certainly not bragging about the measly amount of money I earned from that site - the point is that the $10 is quickly paid for - and you now own that site... and can legally sell it if you want to. No-one can take it away (as Bloggers, Hubpagers, and Squidoo users have discovered to their dismay) Spend the money... build a business... and use Blogger, Hubpages, Squidoo, and other Web 2.0 properties to bring traffic and backlinks to your money sites. If you lose a Blogger site that was simply a backlink to your main site, you may never even notice... but if you lose a Blogger site that was earning you $100/mo in affiliate commissions - that you would notice!
Hi Michael, dont use blogger for professionel business building. It is just for complete newbies, that has to learn the absolute most basics of blogging. While I have made about 50 bucks from blogger - it was just blogging for fun and educating my self. Build a professionel business, use professionel tools and professionel attitude regards, LASSE
Content is the king. No doubt. get a domain and hosting, make a blog, get started. Let nothing stop you.
Hi, One of the options integrated into blogger is the amazon associate option. Will they really have a problem and shut down the site for offering items via this method? Thanks
Excellent points here. If you're not willing $10 to spend on a domain, ask yourself if you are really serious about making money online. Let's make a hypothetical budget for a web project: -$25 to register a domain for two years w/ privacy option -$75 for a year of hosting -$80 for a premium Wordpress theme -$194 for a year of Aweber for email list management That's $374. There aren't many potentially lucrative businesses with proven roadmaps to success for ten times that money. So if you're not willing to pony up $10 or even $2 for a domain (if you're willing to use .me or .info type stuff), quit now!
Most of us started with blogger, it is very good for driving traffic to your main domain. Occasionally, posting there with your affiliate links might be a good idea as it gets indexed quicker than your normal self-hosting sites. If you are not making any money, I would suggest you either look at how others do it, or change your niche. Good luck.
Amazon is best than blogger because it's not blog any account and it also providing all type products for the consumers to choose from.
i am just planning to set another blogger blog for my amazon product when i read the thread, i am terrified. But i am planning to set it up first on blogger blog then when the traffic and the money arise I will convert it to wordpress self hosted
Hi Michael, if you want a professional business, use professional tools. BLogger.com is not good enough for professional use. google blogs are not strong enough to attract visitors. You should build out your own sites with a .com domain and proper keyword research to secure a nice living. regards, LASSE
