Become an editor and include your own sites, or take out an ad on freelancer... There are hundreds of editors guaranteeing in inclusion into DMOZ there for about 30 bucks... http://www.freelancer.com/projects/arc-tag/emailing-dmoz-editors.html
exaggeration? there are 77 pages of bids there, what are you talking about? You're just in denial lol You can't accept the fact that the editor's ruined DMOZ...
You obviously don't like the fact that it is still the largest human edited directory, that we don't list all suggestions, that we do ban sites for certain reasons and people still line up to be editors. Wow if that's failing, show me success!
Thanks for ignoring the 77 pages of scumbag editors taking bids for inclusion on free lancer. Also being the largest human edited directory means squat... 99% of the editors are black hatters becoming editors to include their own sites and make a few bucks at the same time... Its no wonder google doesnt give them much juice anymore
Those are people asking for editors to list their sites, not the other way around. Though I do not doubt the existence of corruption within the clique. It's always been there.
I submitted my site months ago and my listing still does not show or no approval email. I finally said forget it
That is 77 pages of people asking for paid inclusion into DMOZ, but there are dam near 1000 bids from editors on those 77 pages of ads.
Site ownership trumps the content thing. Remember, the ODP has nearly 20,000 listings to deep links of nothing but syndicated content. That breaks multiple rules, and certainly the mainstay about Original Content. It is very successful! The Peoples has it wrong... but then, so do you on a certain level. Your keywords used in that search were strange. Anyone can EMAIL an editor, it takes someone special to guarantee a dmoz isting. Try things like... guaranteed dmoz listing ~ 150 Freelance Jobs Found dmoz listing guaranteed ~ 150 Freelance Jobs Found guarantee dmoz listing service ~ 490 Freelance Jobs Found The list does go on, just click any of the links and then check out the word cloud. Though according to one thread here on DP, all of those are either replied too by editors to get the site banned, or posted by editors to once again get sites banned. Funny way of serving the end user, but then who really knows what they define "end user" as these days... they certainly change the meanings of most other words they use.
When you should have been trying to fill your pockets lol. Not all editors are dirty, but when dirty one's spot a good editor, they team up to make false accusations to get them booted, last thing they need is a "goody two shoes" getting in their way
Or just because 5 meta's didn't like you. How many people have been ousted with no proof what-so-ever? There is no transparency to the system, and as it stands it all falls down to a he said/she said scenario with the ODP winning because of "confidentiality" guidelines... which seemingly only apply to certain instances. (like why is my history open for public discussion, but no one elses is?) and then there is this line: All account removals are subject to staff review and appeal. I brought it up on the internal forums and was called a troll... yet all I wanted was how that appeal was supposed to work.
Wasting time or money trying to get listed in dmozz is non-sense. Getting a site listed by simple submission is almost impossible. Half directory is abandoned and dmoz traffic decreases every month: http://siteanalytics.compete.com/dmoz.org/
