Frustrated with Amazon, international shipping and no answers

I found a product I would like to buy on Amazon, but it could not ship outside US. I contacted the seller which was happy to change it to international shipping, but later found out that Amazon would not let him. I tried contacting Amazon who gave me a standarized answer that this is up to the seller to decide, and that he had to contact them.

He already contacted them and got a reply that some electronic items could not be shipped internationally due to warranty restrictions. But another seller is selling the exact same item on the same page, with international shipping.

I contacted Amazon and asked why the other seller could choose international shipping, but my seller not. Again standarized answer saying this was up to the seller to decide...

So I am getting a bit frustrated now. The seller wants to send the item internationally, but Amazon won't let him and they can not even tell me why.

They even told me to look for another seller! But why should I do that? If the problem is with the item it does not help to change seller? But another seller can ship outside US, so it does not seem to be a problem with the item either?

    Frustrated!

Can you get the seller to send and do the payment in another way? Seems like they just will not allow the seller to send international, and it is just the seller profile that is denied and not really the product itself.

The seller asked if we could use an APO adress, but Amazon say electronic items can not be sent to APO adresses. I asked him if maybe he could put it in eBay instead, but I don't think he was so interested in that. Plus I'm a bit afraid others might buy it... ;) I have looked into mail forwarding also, but it seems quite expensive.

I was thinking of maybe entering the sellers own adress as the shipping adress, and then he could just ship it to us himself. Like this we would do the sale through Amazon, and get it shipped outside US.

Do you know of any other safe alternatives?

I only know in Denmark, there is a few great systems to handle this on person to person basis with safety, outside I have no idea. Also APO you mean a P.O. box? Most companies don't accept that for sending items to, is usual policy.

APO is a P.O. box for the military.

i don't know what Amazons policies are,but it has to be shipped by USPS,there is no tracking/delivery confirmation, and weight has to be less then one pound if it is box R.
