So I recently created my first arcade site and I am looking for free ways to get traffic. I hear a lot of people mention traffic exchange but I am not quick convinced how it will actually help my traffic to go UP. To me it sounds like I will be sending away as many visitors as I am getting in. Does anyone use traffic exchanges on their arcade sites? If so, is it effective? If not, how do you get traffic? I do not have link permission yet so here is the URL if you are interested in seeing my site so far. www.thepointlessarcade.com
yeah of course! I use AV Scripts and I use https://www.mochimedia.com/r/35a74686a33d8b74 for all my games. They give you games for free and even pay you for the in game ads. I also use Google Adsense for ad revenue. Anything else I could help you with?
honestly, using banner exchanges isn't going to help you much until your site is actually receiving traffic. They are better thought as "administrated traffic exchange program" where this exchange provides a way to exchange traffic without actually using an arcade traffic trade script and instead of investing money on a trade script, they do it by taking 1 of every 10 visitors that clicks the banners on your site for their network, and they will return 9 visitors to your site, hence the 9:10 ratio. mibbi.com bannerflux.com funklicks.com these 3 are excellent arcade banner exchange sites which I recommend. Hope this helps! Good luck with your site!
Yeah I am currently using bannerflux but not getting a whole lot of traffic from it. I have been posting my link like crazy to tons of directories and search engines so things are starting to come along. Jason, do you use pluggs on your site? I have heard a lot of people say they are very good for getting a lot of traffic!
Yeah, I wouldnt expect good numbers from banner exchanges untill your arcade is pushing more than 1k uv a day. Yes, on my site Play Free Online Games it uses Arcade Trade Script (ATS) which uses game plugs to trade traffic with various other sites. Its an awesome script (blows av arcade out of the water). If you're looking for more information regarding these topics, check out Arcade Webmaster Forum or Talk Arcades. You can find me under the same name there and these 2 sites will be your best resource when it comes to running a flash arcade game site!
Take care when using Traffic exchange with AdSense, I heard its against Google TOS (not sure though, I only read it somewhere)
This is false and I can assure you. My trade site is 6 months old atleast with no issues. I have colleagues that have been trading for a few years while all at the same time using adsense. Traffic exchange types that are against google tos is Paid to click (PTC) type sites where browsers are paid to visit webmaster sites and click their ads. With arcade banner exchanges, these sites only provide flash gaming traffic. I place an exchange code on my site and I upload a banner to the exchange. For every click on the banner on my site, the exchange will show my site across their network of other arcade sites until a gamer clicks on it. With game plugs, the user is sent to another arcade when he clicks on a game thumb on site A and is sent to site B to actually play the game. Now site B owes you a hit and will do the same. So no worries it's legit traffic. Most of the good banner exchanges sell clicks and impressions and with bannerflux.com, you can buy selected tier traffic (tier 1, 2, 3) at varied rates.
Definitely not true. It is against the adsense TOS to use sites that users get paid to visit your site but traffic exchanges are totally legal as far as Google is concerned.
I just started a flash games site and would be interested in knowing how to attract traffic too. I have been doing the usual SEO techniques, any other way besides that?
I have been submitting to directories like crazy and promoting via facebook and using free adwords credits. Putting it in your signature also helps to get a few hits.
