Hello, can I expect the high position for a .tk domain site (english content) if I do all the SEO, as well as it was .com, .net, .org site? There's one example in my signature and I think they use frames for parking?
.tk is a free domain name you can't get top in google with this domain try to select paid domain name like .com, .net, .org.
yeah free domains like .tk/co.cc is not good in ranking on SERP . But it's possible if you have low competition keywords.
Problem is, a .tk is a ccTLD (Country Code Top-Level Domain). Google promotes local content so as to enhance local experience. In my post "Why your #1 is worthless in the rest of the world" I highlighted that search results are biased depending on where you are. Google.com (which I assume that you are trying to use) is oriented towards the US, so a non-US ccTLD will score bad there, as would for example a .es or a .de domain, as Google automatically assumes that a ccTLD is specific for that particular country. With a .tk domain you will score very well for Tokelau (a territory of New Zealand located in the South Pacific), but not in Google.com. Free/not free is not an issue, the problem is that .tk is a ccTLD and Google uses it for geo-targeting. To score well in Google.com (and other regional Googles) you need a generic TLD (.com, .net, .org, .info or .biz). If you go for a ccTLD, you will only score well in that region, unless competition is really low.
I'm not totally agree with you. I had a co.cc domain and it was getting huge traffic from google and it was in the first page. But after some Copyright issue co.cc remove that domain .
My pleasure. Note that the fact that it is a ccTLD does not mean that it cannot dominate google.com, just that it will be much tougher because it carries the burden of being "local". Now, how can you score higher? First, ensure that the search engines recognize the language of your site. And if you have a different market than Tokelau, then make an explicit geotargeting and use the Geographic Target tool in Webmaster Tools and set it to the country that you are targeting. That should help Google in deciding that despite the ccTLD extension you should score elsewhere (e.g., the US).
No doubt about that, but sometimes we have to select a ccTLD because the .com or other generic TLD extensions are not available.
