Can someone explain to me what exactly keyword research is and how it helps and are their programs out there that helps you?

Are they free? If not, what is the best pay service for keyword research? Is it micro-niche?

Keyword research is a practice used by SEO professionals to find and research actual search terms people enter into the search engines when conducting a search.

There are lots of tool for keywords research. Some are Word Tracker, Keyword Discovery Google Adwords and so on.

Most of the keywords research tools are paid except Google Adword.

If you have a website and you want to get high search engine rankings to get visitors then you need to target some relevant keywords on your site. To select those relevant keywords you need to do keyword research. During keyword research you can search for keyword phrase ideas from different keyword tools like google keyword tool. Before selecting keywords you need to keep two things in mind: keyword has higher searchability & less competition.

in my experience, way of success in internet is keyword research. If done well that, optimize will be easy. Keyword research is:
    1. chek your competition (how much backlink competitor, pagerank, etc)
    2. chek your keyword search (above 100...)
    3. how keyword trend, etc

for tools, i recommend market samurai to spy your competitor...and micro niche finder to get your keyword..success

    Very true!!

Think about it like buying a computer or cell phone. If you buy something simply because you are walking past it, you could find out later on down the line that the PC/device does not do what you need it to do. If you research it you know exactly the capabilities and flaws and that's the same with setting up a website. You need to make sure that there is a demand for the keyword and also see how competitive the market is. All the while searching/researching keywords with very targeted traffic.

The process of finding and deciding upon the best keyword phrases on which to bid in order to advertise a particular web site. There are many keyword bidding tools and websites that show the top paying keywords. However, this may not be as easy or as effective as it sounds. Also there are a number of problems associated with these tools.

Keyword research is one part of search engine optimization (SEO) that you will use them well for your content or backlinking. You are searching for keywords that may give you the chance to rank well in the search engines, and we're relying on low competitive ones and long-tailed keywords (short-tailed are good if you are targeting a newly launched product or latest trend).

There are free and paid keyword research tools out there for you to use, and I recommend the following:

    1. Keyword Winner
    2. Market Samurai
    3. Keyword Elite
    4. Micro Niche Finder
    5. Wordtracker

Well first off, you conduct keyword research to find HIGHLY targeted traffic. This the difference between buyers and information seekers (aka freebie hunters).

And secondly you don't need any tool besides google's keyword research tool. It's been the best for me by far and I've paid to use others. The only other one that I would recommend is keyword spy. But again you don't really need to pay for keyword research...

All these tools however can NOT gaurantee that you will make sales just by 'picking' the right keywords.

There's other things such as price point, the image and professionalism of your site or affiliate site your promoting, the transition from your article or web page to your offer, and your offer it self (amongst other things)...
