Old Site: 812,358 (Actually went up instead of down.. It's not very SEO friendly right now.) New Site: 3,410,352 (Went down over 300,000 again. 6th time this month.)
LOL but honestly It's not great in the US or even in the UK. . well not the best. How do you rectify that situation.. what are your strategies--and yes. I know that its not the be all and end all but still it does get some attention. http://www.redhotwebhosting.co.uk
I actually rebuilt a site using WP for a company called Need an Article. I love wordpress and I work with it very diligently to get the best that I can out of it so I do know some seo tricks for it, but.. ( http://www.needanarticle.com ) we started out at 134,000 and now, four weeks later, we're at ten thousand and our PR went up one level this weekend so I know that it's working. I've been doing yahoo posts, lots of twitter, a ton of posting on other comments blogs, but the one thing that I think works best is sending people to alexa to rank your site. Does anyone else seem to think that helps a lot? Maybe I"m completely full of it but it seems to do a good job. Its just that the one site I work with, the Gibraltar.com one, seems to be quite difficult to bring up. I'm trickling slowly.. a few hundred a day despite my best efforts to find things to use to get it more in motion.. What are your best tricks for alexa ranking?
Article Directory Alexa - 191,488 Decreasing slowly, but steady over last 3 months, had dropped almost 100,000 in the last month alone.
Looking at the "Max" time line in Alexa, it looks as though Needanarticle gained steadily between March and September 2009 and has been pretty constant ever since... Nice work. Some nice 3 month average Alexa ranks in the thread. But to get an idea of how accurate the Alexa rank is, it would interesting to see a comparison between a sites "3 month average" Alexa rank, and its pageviews, visits and absolute unique visitors for the last 3 months. I know results will vary based on things such as whether or not the site attracts visitors that are likely to have the Alexa toolbar installed etc. But I think its still an interesting metric to compare. So I'll start by posting mine below... and if anyone else is willing to share their real numbers and Alexa rank, I'm sure it'll be appreciated. (especially those with similar Alexa rank and page views etc) OK, So my current "3 month average" Alexa rank is 21,642. 3 month totals via Google Analytics (25th June to the 25th September) "Absolute Unique Visitors" = 541,730 "Visits" = 1,599,313 "Pageviews" = 10,903,070 Cheers James
