Placement, placement, placement. Obviously you will need to do trial and error to see where best to place ads.

Here are few changes i have made to made to my blog that have imprioved my CTR.

1- Keep it simple - Make your website look as simple as possible. Don;t use flashy images and graphics. Keep it as plain and simple as possible. The more simple your website is, the more your CTR will improve.

2- Placement Matters - With my 5+ years of experinece, I can safely say that 336 X 280 text only large adsense rectangle below your post/article title is best location.

3- Use link units - Place 1 728 X 90 link unit below header and one 200 X 90 link blend within content.

4- Blue Link Color - Use Blue link color for your adsense link title. The code is #0000ff

    5- Keep experimenting.

Many ways to do this.. Content is important.. you must leave the visitors / readers wanting more, placement is also important as too are color sets. Plenty of articles around DP for advice on this, Good Luck

Depends where your geting traffic from, if your targeting the wrong people. Then your CTR wil be poor. Try customizing the ads color schemes making them clean and non cluttered.

1-2% - it's a normal CTR! Of course CTR can be 5-7%, but this is more the exception than the rule.

1% to 2% CTR is good and can not considered as low.
You may, however try different ad positions and layouts to test.

To increase the CTR, you need to increase targeted traffic.

Basically, add more ad blocks. Inserting more ad blocks almost always increases your CTR.
