I see a lot of vendors doing pre-launches on this forum and I'm also about to launch my first product soon, so I thought it might be a good idea to gain some insight from successfull vendors who did this. My question is, what is the exact difference between a regular launch and a pre-launch? So far the only thing I know is that with pre-launches it gives some time for affiliates to build lists, setup their landing pages etc. and get ready for the actual launch day. But I really don't understand it quite well. Why get ready for launch day and not just start on promoting from day one? What should be the timespan between a pre-launch and actual launch day? Should one pre-launch a product at just one place or across many forums? What makes a pre-launch a successfull one? As an affiliate, what do you expect from a pre-launch to offer you? and so on... It would be great if we could make this clear to all newbie vendors on this forum like myself Thanks for all input!
This is a very "advanced" concept imo, and if you don't have any affiliates, contacts, partners, previous experience of being a merchant, of selling your own products... if you don't know the answers to the questions youre asking basically.. then youre not really going to be able to do a pre-launch. It involves creating a buzz about your product, hyping it up , building interest, giving away gifts in the run up to te launch, but most part of this is getting partners and affiliates to promote you in mass during this period too... If you are interested in this sort of thing then read / watch Frank Kern material, and Jeff Walker's Product Launch Formula - it will turn you into an expert on the process, answer all your questions and set you on the road to doing it properly.
Thanks for your advice. So far I really don't have any affiliates or jv partners to contact for the pre-launch. But I believe I can attract some affiliates by creating a good product and giving gifts, free review copies, articles etc. Still I'm not sure if I should do a regular launch or pre-launch... I will watch Product Launch Formula. Thanks.
