I was wondering if any of you more expieriend CB vendors/affiliates have had prior experiences with other affiliate networks? The thing is, my product has been on this other affiliate network for the second year now, and although things are okay, I can't pause to think about how would things turn out if I moved to CB, which is several times bigger than the current network + it directly supports credit card purchases. Would moving to CB yield me more high quality affialites which make more sales (several times as much)? I've noticed that a lot of CB affiliates mostly do reviews and "scam reviews" of a product, which is not excatly something I need or want. The product in question has been for sale for almost 3 years now, with a converion rate higher than 2% + it has reocurring billing (all in all, I think it's an awesome offer, which is why I was asking about moving to CB). Any insight is appreacited!
In most cases, yes you're better off with cilckbank for various reasons, however it's not exactly a 'default' without looking at all angles and what your product is. The 'scam' etc. shit that affiliates do, just put up a disclaimer on your affiliate page stating terms and if someone breaks them get CB to cut them off your campaign (I do it on dubturbo all the time, and am in the same boat where I fucking HATE when aff's use 'scam' teases or fake free download tricks). I used to think whoring my offers to as many networks I could would be a good move, and i've since reverted my thinking, but for you it might make sense to just setup another domain and dupe the site so you don't have to disrupt your other network. In my opinion though you're much better off being exclusive to one network, and I don't know who you're with but if you yourself are saying the perks are vast re way more affiliates and direct CC sales, then I think you have your answer. If you've already been there for a few years, you probably already have a good batch of affiliates so getting them to switch out links immediately should give you a good kickstart re recruitment and gravity changes (clickbanks charting)... g'luck.
I agree that its better to stick to one network, but if you are going to move then don't make any hasty decisions. Setup a duplicate site, try sending traffic to it to make sure it still converts through clickbank, test the waters recruiting affiliates, possibly even communicate with your top existing affiliates to see how they would feel about a move, and what they would need (in terms of commission, benefits etc) to stay with you through the move... If the test seems positive, and your affilaites are happy / will move with you then move.. otherwise stay.. Oh, I will say though that Clickbank can be great for affiliates, but its not the magic affiliate playground which will have you 1000s of affiliates straight away.. you still need to put a lot of effort into recruiting them..
I agree. This is great advice! Don't loose your success now by cutting your ties with what you have. Expand - yes!
