Hi guys, I hope you all are doing well.Last day my site was on 1st page for every keyword and today my site is around on 5th page for every keyword. My server was down from past 24 hours. Is down server cause fall in ranking or it's a penalty?Anyone having practical experience? Please suggest me with what i should do to get back my site of 1st page. Thanks in advance.
I can't say anything about server down problem but yes you can get your rankings back by increasing some quality back links on your keywords. If you have a blog section in site, then update your blog.
It does have issues when the server is down..but I dont think you need to panic for the same. Let Google cache the website pages again 2-3 times and I believe than you would get your original rankings...wait for sometime
People could have removed their links to you while your site was down and the server going down could also be the problem. If I was you I would look up my backlinks to see if anything has happened. If the googlebot came to your site which they probably did during the time your server was down it could very well be the case that they gave you a lower rank in the serp. When your server has been down for a few hours you will usually get the ranks back after a few days.
One more thing you should maybe look in to getting a more solid host so this doesnt happen again because 24 hours downtime is a LONG LONG LONG time.
I Have the real experience of it very recently. One of my blog was not coming even in top 20 pages for its keyword and earlier it was ranking well. So I can say that you may also be suffering from same issue. My suggestion is to wait for sometime and keep building links.

I have experienced this similar (server down + ranking dropped). I would saying this is only a temporarily effect and your website ranking would recovered in a soon. The server down for a day or even a few days was not a big deal to Google. There are many websites down simultaneously each day. You should worry only if it was down for a month or a lot of 404 pages has been found in your website.
What type of activities you had done to get back your ranking as soon as possible? Please suggest me what should is do right now?
If it is due to server downtime, do not worry. You do not need to do anything except keeping your server up all the time from now and wait. You can always fasten the process just by starting link buliding.
May be your website is in under process by google and google is looking your website irrelevant and drop down your rank
