First, Bing is NOT Yahoo. You will not see Bing labeled anywhere on Yahoo's site. If you could add them together (statistically you can't), they'd make up less than 25%. But, still, you're saying Bing can improve market share by doing the same thing Google is doing and thinking people will switch for the same thing and no other reason. Won't happen.

You mean Yahoo, not Google. Yahoo and Bing did NOT merge! Yahoo only uses Bing's search engine but Bing gets NO labeling or credit for that. Most of the revenue is generated for Yahoo. Bing only receives a 10% fee (iirc).

Google is way ahead in terms of the RELEVANCY factor. The user experience
is the most critical factor and Google is honing this with their algorithms.

It's also pushing webmasters to create and provide relevancy on their sites which
provides a better user experience for the searchers.

It's not impossible for Bing to catch up but they are quite a ways behind at this
    point...

I don't think Bing's results are as relevant as Google's and for this reason I don't think they can compete. Google's algorithm rules!!

I can't really see what Bing could possibly do to tear people away from Google. I just can't see them ever competing with Google.

    Short answer: No.

Google has such a big market share and they have huge teams all around the world working on improving their services which constantly makes them grab more market shares from their competitors which are working hard but just doesn't have the resources that Google has.

Yahoo and Bing have joined forces but they certainly won't be able to pull down Google. It's like thinking that Mac and Linux can together take down Windows (in theory it may be possible but the people won't accept it!). The sensible thing for Yahoo and Microsoft to do would be to focus on making their other products better and reliable, and leave the search engine empire to Google.

Facebook is popular ONLY due to its apps. Very few people use it entirely for networking. So even if they came out with a search engine, I doubt it would be successful at all.

I doubt that. Try to search something in Google and in Bing. Google's results will be a lot more relevant.

I believe Google will put an end to Microsoft and Bing someday. Google represents the orientation of future search engine development.

I think never! Google hold great quality as the pioneer in industry serving best services where Bing is relatively trying many things to capture Market Share

I didn't have an internet connection when Google first started offering its search engine service so I can't compare the early days to today, but these days you can find that Google is increasingly focusing on its ad-serving business rather than the quality of the search results. I can't count the number of times I reached a site with fake content just because I clicked on the top "sponsored links" in a search result :(
