You've definitely made the right decision not to put adult content on your existing site. The adult industry is of course a major money-earner, so you could always consider starting a new site for that market.

I agree with you and might experiment with the adult market using a new domain and website.

If you plan on having google or yahoo ads on your site, it wouldn't be a good idea to have porn on your site, as that would be against the rules. If you don't plan on having ads on your site, if you think having that kind of content will help bring in visitors, I say go for it. You can always remove the content if it doesn't work out.

Also make sure your affiliates/advertisements are ok with it.

I don't think it is a good idea to do so. If you happen to use google adsense, you will be banned permanently, including other adsense alternatives too.

Go to GFY.com, you'll find that everyone in the adult industry is having problems. Not a good time dude, not a good time at all.

Not all hosting companies allow pornsites so you will have to check with your host to see if they will host a porn site or not.

and yes there are ad networks that specialize (or at least ok with) porn.

You may want to check out

    http://www.ynot.com/

    http://www.xbiz.com/

as place that you can learn stuff and find other business that serve the adult industry.

As for if adult sites make money...eh I think it's like a lot of things, it's a big market yes but a lot of people are trying in it and while there are some big players there are a lot of little guys not really making much (if anything)

I really don't think that adult content matches with your site. It looks clean and professional so what value will you add by accepting adult content when you could do this on a separate site? I think deep down you know it's a bad idea or you wouldn't need to ask other people's advice to justify your decision :)

Well, if you decide to allow adult content, then make sure you blend it in stealthy and unnoticeable, like this:

Well most host allow this type of content on the servers. Unless its against laws... But i would just ask before putting it on just to be on the safe side or just read the TOS before hand.
