Hi all, Can anyone tell me why webpages(websites) looses page rank. If a site A is getting back link from B and C. And get rank of 4. And then after 3 months i again take one of the outlink from C means A gets only inlink from B. Now does the PR of A changes??? If so how? I have read in a website(explanation of PR) like "Once the PageRank is injected into your site, the calculations are done again and each page's PageRank is changed. Depending on the internal link structure, some pages' PageRank is increased, some are unchanged but no pages lose any PageRank. " Is that so. So A will never get affected, Isn't it?
PageRank comes 100% from incoming links to your site. Removing a backlink that is passing PR will certainly decrease your PR - PR only passes as long as the link remains up. The decrease won't show until the toolbar update which happens about every 3 - 4 months.
so if i take the link after the PR update and again place the link few days before PR update. Will my PR be the same or Google have any calculation for the "age" of that incoming link.
There is no way to know when a PR update will take place. You don't know when google will discover that link to count it. A link has to be up for a period of time before it will count before the PR update. The longer the link is up, the better. This helps eliminate the SERP benefit for people who buy links for a short period of time - generally you should have a link up for 2 - 3 months to see positive results.
Also it depends it Google has indexed the link, you need to maintain all links in place for as long as possible. Remember Google like relevancy, so rather than just getting lots of PR links try to get links from complimentary or associated pages - even if they are less PR they will be worth more to you.
Google decides PR of each page depends upon how quality backlinks you have. There is no such patterns that how it decides. If you take out one link then of course it will affect your PR.
PR can drop because of the re-assessment of your links inbound, maybe google decided alot of them were from useless sites, or those sites have now been dropped in their PR or gone altogether.
