I’m looking for an opinion. What does everyone think a fair price for hosting would be and what price do you think the market will support, let’s say 500mb space and 1gb transfer.
For 500 mb and 1 GB transfer, free. Its a very competitive market, if you want to succeed in it, you will need to basically just look around at other hosts and base prices of that.
Again, still something you can get for free. Here is a price list I used back in the day. 5 GB space 15 GB Transfer 1 domain allowed $2.99 a month 15 GB space 50 GB transfer 2 domains allowed $4.99 Then I went from that to a unlimited for about $9.99 or so a month. You probably wont get anything better then that.
I would advertise that plan for yearly payments and use a very low price point. No one would buy that plan monthly, and the only way it's going to have a perceivable value is in comparison to other plans or if it offers services free hosts don't.
Standard spec is 1G/10G for $10/years. But now day hosting business is too saturated already. You need to have a lot of money to do marketing.
I don't think you would make someone pay monthly for it. But you could have a deal pay for 1 year and get it for $1.25/month But for that type of spec i would give it for free but with limited support and such. You are better off paying a small fee..
For 1gb of data transfer and 500mb of space. I wouldnt pay more then $2/month for that. You would probably have to prepay for an entire year though but if I know the host is solid I wouldn't have any problem with that.
If you're spending more then $5 for hosting no matter which company it's from, you're not doing sometime right.
