When the website is registered for sites sales we get 5% of on each sales generated by a clickable download link coming from the site to filesonic... Right ?

The question : Is this system working also with folder links... In other words, if I put a folder link (like http://www.filesonic.com/folder/xxxxxx) instead a file link (like http://www.filesonic.com/file/18574875/xxxxx.xxx) is the sales will be counted or not ?

Yes it will be counted When user click on your file (like http://www.filesonic.com/file/18574875/xxxxx.xxx) from your site and buy premium you get 60% from sales and 5% from site sale Tested and working

Yes I know it work with a FILE link but Is it working with a FOLDER link too ?

 

Basic upload doesnt work properly, ftp at all, remote - pending long time or error.

 

I think that no, because sometimes when i sell premium, refferal is my folder not site.... because: user not come from site but from folder link ...

 

Web upload is not working it freezes at 100% without completing.
Remote upload from my premium MU account has been pending for several hours.
Ftp not working either. (Connection timeout, could not connect to server)

You've had a long time to fix all this shit but nothing happens it just gets worse..

crufty offered better advice. Being in the UK he is experiencing the same issues. I am in the US passing on fixes which have worked for others.

Nothing is working at the moment; neither downloads, nor uploads, nor stats... Not even the bug report function is working!
Yesterday I remote uploaded some very popular files and shared the links on ten forums and only got two downloads. People, obviously, have difficulties downloading, and I know this from my own experience, as I have tried downloading other people's files the other day and got terrible speed from some servers (although I am a premium user).
The day before yesterday things had started to go the right way and I thought FileSonic was finally going to become functional. Well, apparently I was wrong. Sorry, but this is beyond ridiculous. I haven't earned anything for a week because I had faith in your promises that things are going to be fixed very soon. I can't wait for you guys anymore. I'm switching to Fileserve until FileSonic manages to get its act together.

I should say that even the impossible,sharingmatrix was the best!!Filesonic is the worst of all,this is unbelievable what is happening here,but do not worry,maybe tomorrow will work RU but the next day will not be work eheh,the same scenario from the beginning,something works one day,and the next day not,this is from day to day and from week to week,This is a tragedy?Or comedy?

Well, I don't think he was kidding, I think his points are fair and reasonable. There are two major views on this problematic depending on what plan you are

1) Pay Per Download - Sure, you need the most possible downloads from free users and by the same you don't actually want them to become premium, right? Because if they buy premium, you will get 1 point per 24 hours which is nothing.

2) Pay Per Sales - This is exactly opposite. You desperately need users to be disgusted by obstacles put in their way in free mode. You have to offer something exclusive and make it very hard to get. If they find it anywhere else - you're beaten, but if it's really exclusive, at the end, they will decide and buy. Bingo, you have your 60%.

Both approaches are completely understandable and one can't blame the other for having his affiliate plan. But there's the thing, that downloads doesn't make up host money for living, while premium sales do. The "philosophy" of counting only free downloads works with assumption that after certain ammount of downloads users will get tired by captchas, waiting times, filesize limits, etc. and will become premium.

Sorry, but "host has to grow and become respected or noone will bother with him" is utter bullshit. Do you think servers, HDD fields, technicians, connectivity is paid by "respect"? Not a chance, they need bucks and bucks they get from premium sales. If you say that after being completely happy with leeching hundreds of gigs as free user you will say: "Hey! What a great host, they deserve some money!" and then you will buy premium account? Again: bullshit.

I have never bought account from "free users friendly" host, although I agree they still exist. They key is exclusivity. If you post soft, game or movie that's popular at the moment, it is probably already or will become very soon posted on all major hosts and then your boat with "free user unfriendly" host sinks quickly. But that's not the problem of host but yours. You posted something that's easily achievable, you will earn less money.

My point is that there must be several advantages in becoming premium member and, if you become premium member, you have right to get flawlessly working site. Are you there FileSonic?

files are still down-loadable and that's a good news...but how can we share more files when we can't upload??..hope that the new ftp server doesn't have a bug problem...hope that they can fix this soon...
