http://www.rawathletics.com How would you market this site? I'm definitely going to start Bing and Adwords advertising soon, but is there anything else you would recommend? I want to try a bunch of different methods in order to determine which is most effective on an ROI basis.
It's going to be an entire line of products. Raw Athletics is just the company name, Vapor Fresh is the product. Just like Proctor & Gamble is the company but Lysol is the product. Marketing ideas?
video marketing , article marketing, press releases, blog posts and comments, directories submissions, forums, seo, ppc, social media, offline marketing and etc. Common marketing strategies will work for your website
article marketing still works today. get as many articles out as you can afford. this type of advertising brings in traffic for the rest of time.
Pretty nice looking site. But I wouldn't just throw traffic to that page unless it's free or someone's searching for that specific product/line. Personally what I would do is put an opt-in box in the upper right hand corner and give them a FREE offer, sample or something. Then write some nice follow up emails, and give away some more stuff like coupons, whatever. Keep showing them your line of products and following up. Every so often give away more free info. or catalog where they can browse your products.
submit unique content articles to article directories, this helps your website; also link forum signatures, press releases, etc...
How about paid advertising? Wouldn't that be more effective and quicker? What are my options besides Adwords and Bing advertising?
There are many methods that can be implemented for marketing a site. One of the biggest mistakes newbies make is relying too much on what others suggest, and then when they fail they say "so and so told me to do that". The first thing you should do PRIOR to beginning a marketing campaign is optimize your site with all of the SEO tactics IF you have not done so already. I then suggest that you try and assortment of different marketing methods, there are solo ads, there is social networking, and a wide selection of tools that can work. You need to remember that EACH and every marketing tool depends on a variety of factors in order to be successful. What works for some does not necessarily work for others. This means that ANYONE who promises a particular ROI rate is plain out LYING. There are SO many factors that contribute to your promotion's effectiveness that there is no way to fully determine if the service is working EXACTLY the same for everyone. Therefore, trial and error is the best answer. You try, you test, you decide what works best for you.
I know the methods of marketing a site...I was more interested in specific ideas for my site. I want a mix of paid and free. I agree I need to try a bunch of things and then check which is most effective for me. I just need more ideas to test out.
HA! I wasnt expecting cleaning spray either! Well... I'd say, get some viral videos made, featuring some athletes Go down to a local athletics club and film them running, chop it up and put some motion blur and get a voice over 'RAW ATHLETES CLEANING SPRAY WOOO!" Or... something along those lines, then submit the hell out of it to video upload sites like youtube, vimeo etc... Then blog about the video, share it on twitter, facebook etc... Good luck!
How about Yahoo Search, Facebook ( Fan Pages ), or you could try doing a small media buy on a site that gets a good amount of traffic in your niche. In my opinion, paid is more effective, but also requires more investment and testing ads.
