I have red this part from many mods posts, in many sites. But the thing that I don't undestand is, why do you still do the mod job when you are annoyed doing it?
If there is too much work for mods to keep the forum "clean" why dont double the number of mods?
About the freebie section, I've got once, an infraction point as I opened a thread with offering a proxy list service (free and paid under $5), my thread was deleted too. Why?
All this time I saw many threads with "free image hosting" "free url shortening service" etc. Why these threads aren't deleted?

It's annoying when someone can't be bothered reading the rules or can't be bothered finding the correct forum to start their thread in. That in turn causes unnecessary work for the mods.

    We have it in hand.

Without reviewing the actual infractions and threads I have no idea. No doubt they broke some forum rules.

    Were they reported?

Please don't take it personaly, :) but if all users would follow the rules, mods would be unnecessary (or only a few just to make some post editions).

That infraction doesn't matter anymore.:) I just mentioned it to say that there is too much work, to take always the best decisions.

Hmm. If I'm not wrong, I've reported a few, but didn't re-checked them again. The point is I saw other threads and on action was taken. I was going to create a thread at the freebies section about there kind of threads, but I changed my mind as it was a risk to get infraction points for myself

    Thank you for replying.

Relating to this particular case, as I'm sure there are many people getting similiar warnings. If a mod has the time to give an infraction out with a warning note then just save the hassle and move the thread. I personally think it's quite stupid that the freebies section has paid stuff in it, however cheap it may be. Alas, it's pointless even posting these types of threads in this forum section because no action is ever taken on it anyway. The public may think the mods are wrong, the mods have the authority so don't care anyway and the forum owner just squeezes for more revenue however he can.

    Finally someone with some truth.

This is 100% correct in my opinion.

@digitalpoint - Your infraction happy moderators are scaring away good members. I can provide up to 15 alias's of people who have moved to another forum due to the amount of scammers, and the amount of infractions the average user gets.....

No matter what excuses you come up with, the average user on this forum is getting a lot of punishment for little things. While scammers, spammers are getting away with what they are doing...

Yes Digitalpoint forums are big, but maybe if you paid professional moderators with experience and some moral values - things might turn around a bit.

I see there is already a facebook group about DigitalPoint and how its failing in its basic moderation.

on a side note; the DP forums are great business wise, but things really need a bit of a review :p

I don't envy the owner/mods here trying to keep a forum this size sane, especially wtih so many non-english speakers here. I run a small forum, I can appreciate the efforts.

But I do agree with whoever said infractions should be called 'warnings' - its much clearer what they are, 'infractions' is a bit of a long, tossy word :)
