so if you have good community, linkwheels and other business there than on 30 sep. they close their site. they let you transfer all blog to terapad or flickr, still you will loose your links..... oh well
vox.com has an Alexa rank of around 1000. It's a high traffic site. I wonder why it is being shut down!
Open their website ( vox.com, which now redirects to closing.vox.com ) - they have published an announcement there.
Maybe. Maybe not. I just found this: the promoters of Vox.com also own Typepad.com, which is a similar site. Maybe they don't want to run 2 competing sites.
Vox.com have a history of closing and re-opened their service before. Don't know whether they will close it for good or not this time. - Dynashox -
Why do you think high traffic makes a successful company? It maybe not cost effective to run, they pay out more in expences then they take in revenue wise. Running a site like that is nothing like the sites you guys run, where you slap Google adsense on it.
May be it is way of doing business. You own free (vox) and paid (typepad) services, then close free service and offer people to move to another paid one.
Yes vox is closing and we had 7 accounts in vox we are planning where to transfer our existing vox blogs its either typad, flickr or wordpress.
whatever be the reason..we should try to find the platform wherein we can publish our existing blogs ..rather than discussing on its reasons of closure...
