    Hello,

I am a user ePassporte. You said that the payments were for ePassporte customers on hold but you are in the "Payments" wrote that I paid.On my ePassporte account is no money arrived.

Will all that money will be reimbursed when resolving problems with visa?

Thanks in advance for your reply.

Good job! Every time, the more I like your filehosting! Yet only ftp transfer speeds, Amend ... 1.4 MB / s is too little :(

Filesonic, please answer when are you going to reduce download speed for free users and add captcha? Because now the download speed for free and premiums is the same!

    Thanks.

I joined filesonic premium today, but I can't download anything, noticed others from the UK have had the same problem. Everything just gives Download Error (7004) Please can anyone help shed light on how you fixed this? I desperately want a refund, I've never joined a filehost before only to find it doesn't work at all!

I'm now on my 30th day of a 30 day membership and have spent most of those frustrated at being given error messages (current error = Download Error (7004)). Today I decided to 'google it' and find others with the same issue, so here I am.

I've sent messages to FS about these issues but have never received a response. On the rare occasion that it has worked the speed was excruciatingly slow.

I personally feel all members should be given a free month once issues have been resolved as I feel I've thrown my money away. I certainly won't be renewing based on the 'service' given to date

    Was having this problem myself.
I'm not a techie person so can't explain but after spending a couple of hours messaging with one of Filesonic's ITs managed to sort out a temporary fix for me.

Basically users from the UK should be OK now but if you're not then it's because your ISP is proxying your connection in a weird way.
In the long term they need to ensure that any proxies that you pass through, so Mr Cam and the boys can keep an eye on you, is being used in such a way as it doesn't mess with your address.
(If they (your ISP) don't you're going to find continuing problems with Filesonic and other sites).

In the meantime, I'm afraid I can't offer a solution but get in touch with one of the Filesonic people who post here and they'll set arrange a techhie to get in touch.

Finally over the past fortnight or so I've been loosing my marbles, wondering if I'd been scammed or if I'd managed to break the whole internet.
After spending a couple of hours trying to sort this out "live" I realise although I might be bonkers, I haven't been scammed and haven't broken the web.

    Thanks for the reply.

(I think) I've just sent a PM to one of the FS guys on here, but the message isn't in my sent items folder. Does this site work wierdly and not show until it's been read or do I need to re-send?

ha ha. I've just seen a 'Doh!' moment. As I was sending the follow up message I noticed a checkbox saying "save a copy of this message in my sent items folder'. This is unchecked by default. So there you go.

I am in the UK and still getting the Download Error (7004) - my connection is a bog standard adsl connection with no 'wierd' proxying or anything unusual whatsoever. Every other site I visit works perfectly (inc file hosts). This problem is definitly with filesonic, not my isp ! If I try to go through a proxy I just get '502 Server dropped connection' when I click the download link after the 30 second delay. This is all after several weeks of 503 erors. I suspect, combined with all the other problems which seem to never get fixed, this can't go on much longer and surely the end must be coming for filesonic
I was about to move big time into filesonic's affiliate program, but at the moment I'd have to be a little crazy to jump on a bandwagon that has wheels falling off ! Thank hendrix for this site and the insight it's given me into filesonic's very serious issues - I would have wasted a lot of time and effort without digital point :)

Every (well 95%) of ISPs here use the IWF list. They do this be using special magic inside their servers to see where you are trying to get to.
How they do this varies from ISP to ISP.
Mine "Be" mess with the throughput of my IP causing problems at Filesonic (and from time to time other hosting sites - recently filesrve and hotfile).
How much it affects your access to any particular site depends , I guess, on what security protocols are in place at the receiving (filehost) site and how they are impacted by the mangling of your IP.
Once again not a tech just trying to give a few (helpful?) pointers.

Don't get frustrated if you do not receive an answer until Monday. It's been a long week and the FS guys who inhabit the forum could well be off for the rest of the weekend considering they were around until early this morning getting the new servers online. If I were to bet, it would be that they would extend your membership.

How is adding captcha unfriendly? Again, I have sympathy for those with free accounts, but there needs to be benefits available to premium membership if users are actually going to upgrade at some point. If FS doesn't sell a certain perchantage of premiums, the host will die. This would be much more unfriendly than the minor inconvenience of captcha.

To their credit, the various hosters, including FS, implement work-arounds when they fall victim to the IWF list. While I sympathize with your plight and would not oppose your refund should that be your desire, you should direct your anger to your ISP(s) and to your government. It is they who are responsible for the censorship, not FS or any of the other hosters. It is not the hosters who "do not work at all" who are blocking your access.

@ crufty - thanks mate I know your trying to help and I'm not a techie in this area myself (I build & maintain commercial websites and teach guitar lol)).
All I can say is that I could download from filesonic with no problems untill approx 10 days to 2 weeks ago, and since then just had errors of various kinds. Since the 503 has turned into a 7004 I guess they've done 'something', but it ain't fixed by a long shot.
As I said I have no trouble with any other site inc file hosts and one or two sites that are well known for being a bit 'tetchy'- all work fine. At the end of the day I just find it very difficult to believe that my isp could be doing something that screws up filesonic, yet I've never, ever had a problem anywhere else in all the time I've been with them, plus it worked fine with filesonic a week or so ago. What more can I say ?

Until a week or so ago....which was when the IWF participating ISPs began actively blocking FS. You may have been lucky enough not to experiene the censorship in the past, but almost every hoster (and even Wikipedia) has had issues at various times. While I personally do not copy other folks' files to re-post, there is not much FS can do to prevent your files from being downloaded when you yourself are making them available for download. The best advice I can give if this bothers you is to make a different copy of one file for each site you frequently post. Then, sit back and see which site(s) is the homebase for the lurkers copying your files to re-post. Once determined, you can stop posting at the site(s).
