I found a lot of posts in the forums are suggesting Clickbank vs CJ. Are more people choosing Clickbank now? And why?

This is a bit like 'do you prefer knives or forks'! They do very different jobs. If you want to sell hard goods that people would search for by name online then CJ is the way to go. Commissions will be less (10% more than 75%) but the goods will be precisely what the visitor wants and there are very few problems. Obviously you need more clicks to get your ROI if you're using PPC, but the item value can help with this.

Clickbank is only for virtual, downloadable products, hence the high commission percentages. I would recommend a Clickbank product of at least '30' gravity and a pricepoint where you'd break even with a sale every 150-200 clicks.

    Hope that helps.

I guess CJ would be the one for me. We do high end camera products, mainly focuses on DSLR cameras and its accessories, do sell compact cameras too. Thanks for the clarification!

For what you are looking at, definitely CJ.

They are two completely different companies when you think about it. I find that Clickbank products with those long squeeze pages tend to give me a thought of "too good to be true/scam". Clickbank is mostly for selling software and ebooks. For CJ, you are referring your users to really legit, established sites (take StubHub.com for example, very highly reputable ticketing agency in the United States).

both are reputable businesses. You need to get lucky to make enough money via affiliate marketing with right set of skills. Lots of people are earning even with small affiliates.
