Why should I feel "disappointment and dismay" that those scumbags are losing? I could not care less.

On the other hand, the so-called "War on Terror" is not a war on Al-Qaeda at all, but a war on Islam and Muslims. Get your facts right: I despise BOTH Al-Qaeda and America's so-called "war on terror".

Menj, I know you're NOT an extremists, which is why I said "if you were" ;) But remember I don't stick to those stereotypes. I know some Muslims; they're good people. (But that's for another debate elsewhere.)

Heck I dunno, but you said: "Certainly not a good conclusion to the so-called "War on Terror"." - I'm assuming you are expressing disappointment at the way this is ending...

You hate Al-Qaeda but NOT the United States directly, just the war against terror, right? If so, then I can respect that... but if you hate the United States, I have a problem with that... as long as you hate Al Qaeda and not us, we're cool

Now if they could just work on stopping the 100+ civilians per day from being kidnapped, tortured, executed and blown up.......

I'd be pleased to see Al Queda weakened across the board. That would be a great day in my book.

Forget the citation but I thought I read that tribal shieks in the Western Sunni portion of Iraq met with the Shiite president seeing if there was a commonality to drive out Al Queda.

That would be a great step forward.

Wishful thinking, and if it happens its just a tactical move and its going together against all others but not qaida

I thought it wasn't the US' responsibility to police the world? What was the point of the UN again?

Must be Bush's fault that islam is killing in droves there.

It may be a wishful action but it would be good for the time being if it happened.

Funny, but today's allies are tomorrow's enemies.

Virtually the day after WWII ended the US and USSR were enemies after fighting together against Germany. Of course in the 80's we had Rumsfeld meeting with Saddam and the US helping Saddam on his fight with Iran.

I suppose history tells us you do the best you can at the time and then work through the consequences in the future.

    Menj,
I would like to ask you a question if you dont mind.

is this true that its written in the Holy Kuran that if your next door is not a muslim ask him to convert and if he doesnt listen and convert to Islam then cut his right hand and let him bleed to death ?

    Is this right?

Sure, other sources have covered the story:

    http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,216260,00.html

However, I suggest that if someone is reading a message they don't want to read/accept, there are no credible sources.

I wouldn't look for it in the treasonous NYT=liberal crap paper though ;)

Well I'd hardly call Fox news credible. I searched for the story and the only articles I could find were from Rupert Murdoch's propaganda machine and other known conservative outlets.

Thanks for the link anyway. :)
