I had opened this Website GetFree-Articles.com around 2-3 years back. I did not pay heed to it until recenlty I saw that many articles are being submitted by many people. So, I decided to give some attention to it. I've been noticing that my sites's ALexa Rank is going up continuously. It's good. But, the search giant, Google remains adamant. What should I do to increase more traffic to my site, rather increase the Google Pagerank??? I'm a complete newbie in SEO and all that stuff. Please give me some ideas.
That is a pretty decent Alexa Rank 400K+ I'd say most of your traffic came from search engine crawlers & bots which then reflects to your Alexa Rank, keep doing SEO to it to start getting organic traffic from humans Good luck Louie
Actually Alexa has its own criteria and ways and the it's own database for giving rank to any site, if it is increasing that's good, but you need not to compare that with Google ranking. First of all, the optimization of your site matters the most to get the Google ranking with your targeted keywords. Optimize properly your site and plan some targeted keywords for your site to grab the search engine traffic. You have increase the popularity of your website to get the real and targeted traffic. If you get some quality back links for your site, you would get surely increasing Google ranking. I suggest you to work on the following field to get traffic on your site and to improve the Google ranking of your site, here are some ways - a. Press Release Submission and Distribution b. Thank you very much for the suggestions. I've already started with many of the above you stated. But, as you said I need not worry about google but still, I'm really worried about it. I hope I'll come up with some interesting stuff to attract Google.

Alexa's ranking honestly "yoyo"s most of the time. It goes up and down based on your website's traffic. However, Google needs a lot of work so you can see progress. With the mass competition out there, you can't just run the website and expect its Google ranking to float upwards.
Pagerank is not what you need to target on now. It's a dynamic factor that cannot so easily be worked upon now. You would rather do some keyword research and pick a few keywords to target depending on your niche, their competency and traffic volume. Once you're done with that, building backlinks shouldn't be a problem for you considering what you do as a freelancer

With these stats, you are bound to better your position: Alexa ranking 438894 Pages indexed in Google - 9650 Pages indexed in Bing - 62 Pages indexed in Yahoo - 379 Backlinks according to Bing - 42 Backlinks according to Yahoo - 292 Yahoo LD - 769 Just keep working on it and you would be fine
I think i'll wait for Google's next PR update and see what happens. By the way, i did not create too many backlinks, only to see what happens between Google and Alexa..
