Opinion on Whether to Use Adwords or Not?

    My company is a commercial and residential window film provider. We are based in Denver, CO.

    I have been considering using adwords to supplement my seo efforts (which I am doing personally). However, when i google "window tint denver" and look at the sponsored links it is a bunch other window film providers in the area.

    This makes me think that using adwords in my case may be more of a "me too" move. What do you guys think? Should I look at other keywords?

    Or would my money be better spent on seo to try and get a very high ranking on the organic side?

    I would suggest you for SEO first because I don't think so that for the keyword "window tint denver" is too much competitive. through SEO you can get more visits and reliablity on more keywords.

    if you want to use adwords, you must provide it with a lot of keywords...1000 or more keywords would be nice.

    You should try adwords if you get Good ROI then continue with adwords and also continue your SEO efforts as you need much more time and patience to get good amount of organic traffic,So in start adwords would be good supplement for you.

    Really that many. Ok thank you for the info!

    My concern is that the type of keywords that I think I will get conversions for is stuff like "window tint denver" or "window film denver" etc. (due to the home improvement type of product that we offer). And if all of my competition is clogging those up, is it a wise investment?

    The '1000 keywords' is a completely made up random figure.
    Whether or not you use the same keywords as competitors depends on whether you think you are losing traffic to them, and how likely they are to convert. Your product is quite specific, I wouldn't think there was much point in being too broad in your choice of keywords, but picking out specific long-tails would be beneficial

    If you apply proper efforts in PPC to accurately researching good keywords, you will surely get targeted visitors.
    You can remove your ads for keywords for which you rank number 1.

    You need to be keen, read blogs or articles of Adwords experts.
    1 I know is perrymarshall.com He has a free 5 days email course.
    there are more. there are ebooks as well, and some of them, which are written by top experts are really useful.

    I second that Perry Marshall is a good resource. He has a lot of good information online, although somewhat pricey. He wrote a book a couple years ago and you can find that at your local library if you are lucky. Good luck with things!

    It's all about measuring ROI. If you can generate a profit from leads/sales from Adwords then go for it, else stick with seo.

    In terms of actual adwords strategy, in a nut shell use highly targeted keyword phrases, enticing ad text to increase CTR and rich landing page(s) for conversion. Also make sure you test everything so you get the best out of your adwords campaign(s)

    There's no such thing as "provide Adwords with n keywords".

    What you have to do is use the right keywords. If your product is a window tinter, then that's the kind of keyword to use. If there's only a couple of ways to describe this product, that's how many keywords you'll have. Also, don't worry about what competitors are doing much. They use the same keywords, so what? You beat them by having great ads and take clicks away from them. You then close the sale on your landing page by convincing your visitor that your window films are a great bargain even though yours may be more expensive. You show them your unique selling proposition.

    I think you should do Adwords. Learn first. Then, when you have a great campaign, you can transfer that knowledge to SEO and beat your competitors on both fronts.

    If your niche is specific as it is, and if it's competitive on the local level, get professional assistance man.
    Trying things out on your own is alright, but not when your business is at stake.
