Hi bloggers who quited your full time job, how long does it take for you to achieve that?
(of course the money you making online now has to be at least equal or greater than you full time job before)

I am not over yet with my full time job but my friends are. They did it part time for a year, stabilized themselves for a year. So it took them 2 years before going full time. And yes, they are now earning in double compared to their former salaries.

I think it varies a lot, depending on your topic/niche, your dedication, your knowledge and whether or not you might get lucky. But a few years is also what I most often hear, because you'll need a lot of time to build up trust, create content, get the word out, maybe building a mailing list as well.

Usually my recommendation is for people to become a blogger out of passion, not because of money.

I totally agree with you that blog out of passion not money, but it's undeniable that money can be a very strong motivation too =P

Absolutely - I didn't just create ad spots for sale on my blog out of passion :D - but because I wanted to earn a little money on the side compared to what AdSense are giving me.

But starting a blog only for the sole purpose of making money, one might be better off flipping burgers at the local joint instead, cause it's not a walk in the park to make it bigtime in the blogging world (despite what many "make money online"-programs will try to convince you that it is).

If you think you know the real deal behind blogging and SEO and you can write well, you can start a homebased job. Affiliate marketing can be applied through blogging.

I suspect most people won’t stick with it long enough to make a full-time income, ... The second question that people normally ask after, “how do I make money with a blog?” is, “how long is it going to take?”. Well just like most things in life, there is no legitimate quick and easy way. It takes time and hard work.

I've spent 6 month in order to become a full-time blogger. Now I'm quite satisfied with the size of my income.
