Why my site's traffics doubled and again became normal?

hi marketing experts,
I am passing very confused days thinking about this! I have a flash games website (www.flashgamz.info)! at july the traffics of the site started increasing and it looks it almost doubled within a few days! what's great? my earning also increased more than double which made me flying! please check the screenshot:


however, at the middle of the August, I also looked at google analytic and I discovered traffic started declining at July as so my earnings!

I don't remember I did do anything significant that may affect it so significantly! can you kindly advice me how I analyze my google analytics to understand the cause and reason of both increasing and declining? i tried understanding traffic sources but it looks normal and no spike (at ratio) in traffics from any specific sources! please help me learning!

Don`t stop link building to your site here is question in my mind is your site is still in ranking? if not then you need quality back links to boost your site.

 

There may be several reasons for this.

Here is my experience. One of my blog gets daily 200 Avg of traffic. I am on 1st page of my main key word (but 3rd place. ) one day my main competitor had technical difficulties with the site. That day my site visitors increased to 550.

 

it depends on several factors...eithe your compititor has done more link building or you must have stopped building links for a while

 

Yes, I also agree that you should continue doing the links. Be spontaneous.

 

actually, earlier I did not do any link building, at least actively! so your first thing may be true!

actually after I noticed the downward condition of traffic, i have taken some steps! now I believe I am noticing a boost again! but not sure is the current boost is natural or due to my steps! :-s

 

then do some backlinking...just think of the edge you will have....

then how should I proceed? should I create back links with site's homepage or I create backlinks to pages with popular keywords?

in some places I read google penalizes paid links and free links are almost useless! what you suggest me?
