What are some good ways to keep google or other engines on my site? I have noticed when users are on, then google/engines show up, and once everyone is gone, then google takes off...and members are not always on, so google does not seem to show up until the party starts... because you know when google is around then it is probably indexing or looking around, or whatever the hell google does... because if google/other engines are not around, then you know nothing is being indexed or being looked at for indexing... ideas?

Yes, it's the content. Google loves fresh content. Incorporate some additional methods of adding fresh content. Also use.... RSS Feed Submissions and Social Bookmarking all your content
Simply try to bookmark every page you create on your site and google will be coming back again and again.
