It is absolutely possible. You see, Google can show your search engine results following your personal behavior.
Google doesn't become mad obviously and now it tries to show you the best results that suit your needs.

I have noticed that sometimes this happens.
I have installed google toolbar in both IE and firefox.
different results appears on different browsers like IE8 and firefox are showing different results for same keywords.
I think the main reason behind is google toolbar or browsers personal settings that came into effect like localization ext

Check whether its .com on Mozilla and IE 8 ? Country based domain and .com results will surely show some variations.

    Try this,

do a search, then when you see the results page, click in the address bar, go to the end of the address of the search (it will be like: http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=&...vclient-ff&rlz=1B3GGGL_en-GB___GB364&ie=UTF-8) or similar.

Then, to the end of the search URL, add: &pws=0

    So, from:
    http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=&...vclient-ff&rlz=1B3GGGL_en-GB___GB364&ie=UTF-8
    to
    http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=&...t-ff&rlz=1B3GGGL_en-GB___GB364&ie=UTF-8&pws=0

This attempts to NOT show personal web search results...

See if that makes a difference maybe?

Why don't you try to click web history and disable personalization. Different result in different browser is just an effect of google's new feature in web history. That is definitely a confusion for many webmasters nowadays.
