I've got a site that's been up about 3 months. Its basically just forums right now while I get the main product (a software program) completed.

My programmer should have the program completed in 3-4 weeks so I'm looking for advice on what I should be doing now and then what I need to do for the next several months.

I've got the site up, forums up and a few people are on it (150 users currently, but very inactive) just discussing the product and things like that. I've got everything set up with how it is to be sold (paypal/trialpay/cpalead to buy a monthly subscription which will allow the use of the program). I've got the site up on Google Analytics.

Is there anything else I should be doing?

Keep in mind I do not want to get heavy traffic yet since the site offers very little for now.

I'm thinking I should start writing some articles and save them, then submit them to directories and things like that once the product is available. That way I'd have 15-30 articles ready.

    Anything else?

    All suggestions are welcome.

Maybe try looking for some JV partners to help promote the product once it's ready. Not that that's going to do anything for your SEO, but if you could get some JV's with nice size lists to promote it it should give you some good traffic for a few days. You could then build off of that.

Sorry - Still new to web marketing for the most part. What is JV?

Joint Venture partner...basically someone who agrees to promote your product for a portion of the profit. JV's generally have a fairly large mailing list, so it's a good way to get your product in front of a lot of people in a short amount of time.
