    I don't play games that much, the only game I play is Chip's Challenge ;) .
    I'll usually have Safari, Firefox (this steals so much ram), photoshop (any quick graphic I might have to make for a site), taco html editor, adium and itunes open at the same time. When you have so many programs running everything will still run perfectly with 512mb RAM, except for firefox which will crash like a deaf bat.

    lol.

    I'm running Firefox with around 5 pages at least at any given time, on a 128 mb ram p3 PC.

    Works just fine. I plus have trillian running, EditPlus, a couple of folders open and FileZilla. that's the standard, and it never bugs me. :)

    On Getting Viruses
    - PC gets more virus than MAC
    - but then again... not much people use MAC to send virus to each other

    On Gaming
    - PC wins no doubt. All companies produce for PC mainly, they don't care for MAC

    User-Friendliness
    - Obviously easier to use a PC

    Hardware Competition
    - MAC installs cleaner with not much wires
    - PC allows more easier self-upgrading
    - PC can get more physical mods added than MAC
    - Work faster with more than one mouse button

    I really want a macbook now. The reason for it is because I can't install games I want and when I'm using it, I'll probably just concentrate on developing/designing websites. I will have to buy extra softwares though, but it's pretty cheap at my college tech store.

    Same here, if I do ever get a MAC, it'll just be for web designing. My PC will be my gaming machine. There's work, and than, there's play. So it sums it all up.

    MAC = Work
    PC = Play

    Ok, let's clear this up, there are no viruses for macs and people don't use macs to send viruses to each other. What happens is that people dont bother to scan downloads for viruses on macs (because there are none) and sometimes these files get passed on to PC users with the virus still attached.

    That's true but if you have Boot Camp installed you can play PC games anyway.

    Wrong, Macs are famous for being incredibly user-friendly.

    I don't understand your last point but the others are true.

    Does anybody actually prefer windoze ? I replaced my old PC with a mac mini about a year ago and in that time it has never :
    a. frozen
    b. rebooted itself (except when the mains power went off)
    c. taken more than 10 seconds to boot

    I am just gearing up to buy myself a new macbook when the money comes in ... :)

    There are no virus for MAC's cause not that much people actually uses MAC so the chances for creating one is slim to none. A virus is most often manually created by a human. But any computer "wiz" that knows what he or she is doing could easily get rid of the virus.

    Is it not a coincidence that MAC developers wanted to emulate PC on their MAC? There are several PC emulators out there for the MAC and yet there are none, if any, MAC emulator for the PC since no PC user really needs to use any MAC exclusive programs.

    As for the last point, it is easier and way faster to work on the computer with more than 1 mouse button. Doesn't take a genius to figure that out.

    I currently have a toshiba satellite, I dont have anything against microsoft or windows as Ive never gotten a virus or spyware, though In like half a year, I will be needing to do some audio/video editing, so I will be purchasing a desktop to handle it, either the iMac or the G5. Also Dell isnt really the best competitor.

    I use the internet quite a bit and ive even used bittorrent and limewire with this computer, This is why I think the best prevention to getting virus's and spyware is just use commonsense and dont go to shady sites, or download shady content.
