Thoughts & Comments on My First Website

I am putting together my first website. The content of the site will be a journal of my progress as I build the site. This is a learning project for me, and I will be providing a detailed log of what I am doing, how I am doing it, and the results.

I've done a search on other sites that have done this only finding some blogs to be the closest. I've come across many "how to build websites" but not a log style site.

If anyone knows of a similar site to what I will be doing, let me know.

Until then, stayed tuned for my progress!

Sounds very interesting, remember you shouldn't always judge success by the amount of money you have in your pocket! Knowledge and experience also account for a lot!

    Way to go, my friend.
The center column looks too narrow, I suggest you increase the width to at least 800px.

I have to agree you need to make it wider. Did you create the header?

The design is a template. The text is just a font my website software provides.

I looked into the centre main panel. The navigation (left) panel + main center panel is already 750 pixels. I read I am not supposed to have the site more than 800 pixels wide.

Are you using a sitebuilder software or something like that? Well the design is a bit messy and unattractive, don't you think? Why not search for a simpler template with possibly a white background? I heard white backgrounds are more visitor-friendly. Anyway, love the effort you put. I like the concept.

Yes I used a free template that my sitebuilding software provided. I am no designer. I think the design is much better than I could of ever done. I've also read that white backgrounds are generally more trusted.
