I vote for not going back to the old system which impacts performance. So long as stats are processed at least once per day I have no problem with batch processing. Live stats are not crucial so long as stats are reliable.

Edit: One thing that needs to come back is some kind of stats history in the file manager. We need a "total downloads" per file stat to monitor the popularity of files and a "deletion date" would be welcome as well. Right now, all my files are listed as "Premium: No" even though I am a Premium member. I cannot tell if these files are to be deleted 30 days after last dl or if they follow the Premium rules (as they should).

Since premium users are only counted once per day, is it possible that the bulk of downloads came from premium users for the period you observed? Can you tell from your stats the number of IPs your clicks came from or just the total number of clicks?

I'm not saying you're wrong about your stats being off as I know little of your site, just putting out some tracking ideas if your scripts will allow.

On a related issue, I started seeing my sales move again since last Friday. Not back to where it was, but I've had 18 this week.

 

some remote upload files have gone through today, but some have the "Problem - S2S_CAUGHT_EXCEPTION"

can anyone tell me what this means?

 

I'm pretty sure my sales issue is account related if you're making that many sales now, i am still at 1!!!!, i've never had this low sales days ever on my sm/fs career, not even the first day i started with 50 files, i have over 5000 now... I hope eventually they can fix it.

No download counting was bugged this morning, everyone was reporting the same issue, first it got throttled where it only counted the 60% of the downloads, to 30% of the downloads to 10% of the downloads and eventually it went completely dead.

I can only say that i know for a fact that download statistics were bugged, but sales is impossible for me to check, but checking the statistics for my account you can see clearly that it is very bugged. I have been posting more content then ever since ftp is working great, and ive only made 1 sell.

Hish was talking about there was issues so maybe soon they will be fixed, i will see on friday, i would be very happy if i could get in touch with anyone at SM to get to know some real information why i am not generating any sells, or why they are not getting logged all of the sudden, it would calm my nerves

The sales were counted finally..may be they were some problem in real time updating..and my stats showing 2 sales...i hope it would count 5-6 sales today..lol

 

for those of you complaining about free users getting high speed, you can now set your files to premium users only. It's in the edit button in filemanager.

My stats got updated at the end of the day (CET time).

several days ago I gained a refferal. He is already earning money but I can't see him in my refferals and etc.
Is this kind of - "new refferals become active after some time" or more like - "normal delay, stats will appear" ?
There is also the third possibility - something was bad with ref program that day, but I think its rather paranoic idea ;D

 

Well, it does seem that RU & FTP, both, are working properly and the shown stats are synchronized with the real stats -I'm a pay-per-download user- and the site is flexible with no issues now.

I hope that this will finish our misery for the past week(s) and all the matters have been resolved by the team.

 

I'll cosign what ScaryMe says. I just came to post that RU has gotten through about 15+ files for me today. I feel like I should post when things are working well too

Great stuff! The natural 400 MB + limit for free users is no longer necessary like this. You can just set this button for your bigger files if you like.

EDIT: RU working great. hope it stays like this

 

by doing this your just making filesonic looks really bad to the downloaders...because by selecting premium users only we are not allowing all the downloaders to see the file..

i tried the option and checked it by free user acct and this is what i get

Really? Laughing at myself. I was thinking that pertained to deletion date (free user vs. premium user).

It is still happening to me.

 

I contacted FileSonic about a payment error and they resolved it quickly. Thanks! Everything seems to be going smoothly. Except for FTP upload, I hope that can be fixed soon. But other than that, great job, really excellent site!
