So long as you get proper placement in the search results: who cares about page rank? Try this: search for "shoes" on google. Results: Zappos (for me) is the very last result on first page with PR8. DSW is the second organic result with PR5. First result is shoes.com which has an obvious advantage w/ URL but a PR4 According to my quick test PR actually hurts your site
see I guess it all depends what you want to look at.... ok so the pr8 site is lower ranked for shoes but according to compete.com the pr8 site has more traffic followed by the pr5 site followed by the pr4 site... according to my quick test PR actually helps your site
the amount of people who stress over page rank is ridiculous. I seriously doubt people who are looking at page rank, have even actually built a decent site. When I say decent, Im talking about 2000 visits per day AT LEAST! I think these people will understand that page rank is not that important cause they'll see a lot of there pages from PR 0-2 getting a lot of targetted traffic. Get over page rank. Its almost annoying when supposed link builders say "whats your page rank?" or dumbarse webmasters selling links on rubbish "PR6-8" pages with 10 million outbound irrelevant links on them. Anyone seen all the rubbish wordpress blogs with PR 4,5,6 and has a free wordpress theme with 2 meaningless articles on them? Go buy those links and see how much value you get.
I think it's fantastic that so many people are still obsessed with pagerank, because it means they are not totally focused on SERP's. If every webmaster and SEO was it would make my life much harder.
I totally concur. I couldn't care less about the little green demon. Very easy for a PR0 page to outrank a high PR page. Of course trying to convince the obsessed ones of this is next to impossible it seems.
Well, I do care. That small green bar at Google Toolbar on my sites looks beautiful. Jokes apart, but I have reasons to believe that PR still pays a roll in SERP game. Though it has lose some importance, but still matters.
Well of course! I do care about PageRank, I'm just not addicted to it! Not to mention the money I could make if only I had PR 6 and PR 7 websites... Ohhh... With all these PR addicts around, I can fairly put PR to good use.
People care about pagerank because they have wrong understanding what it means. They think having high PR will bring them more traffic. The reality is that websites with high traffic naturally become popular, naturally other websites linking to them and as result they getting higher PR. But not way around.

They are both Yes and No in this case. I do not care pagerank that much like I was. Pagerank is not an indicator for website ranking and quality as much as it used to be. The only one matter I do care about pagerank is N/A pagerank or suddenly dropped to zero. Because that is a sign of website penalization in one way or another after all.
Yes I care about page rank. I try to get my sites ranked as high as possible. But I'm not obsessed with having a high page ranked. There are other ways to generate traffic to a site but having a good page rank is always a good thing.
Hi, Personally, I think PR is really important for a successful site though it might not be the decisive factor for SERP(traffic) purpose. But, generally speaking, having a higher PR would mean having more SEO friendly contents and higher quality back links and these would also help a lot for SERP purpose. all the best,
