Article and Blog Question...

I setup my blog a couple days ago, and within 2 hours I had my first
    spam post..nice...

so today, I also notice that i got a ping email, so I log on expecting
to find another spammer post, instead I find out that another site
has grabbed my article and placed it on their site, at least my
    anchor text/link is in place...

Since I do not know to much on how or why they did this...

    is this good or bad?

another question is. I read somewhere that this person does 10
unique articles aday, and submit them to 200 directories...it is
hard enough to write a few unique artices aday, but submitting
them to 200 directories...he can not be doing this by hand, this
would burn out anyone in no time, so how is this mass submitting
    being done?

    Thanks guys...

If your link is still in place, at least they're not trying to pass your work of as their own and depending on the site, the more pages that link to you the better as far as search engines go.

As for the mass submitting, there is numerous software available to do this although I couldn't suggest any as I haven't used it myself.

I do not see submitting to 1000's of directories an advantage, as google would see this as duplicate content I would think, but on
the other hand they are not coming to me by the masses...i guess this is a double edge sword...

and as long as they provide a link back, I am ok with that :)
i guess that is why we put content online, hoping to get backlinks.

Its duplicate content, when your website has 2 pages that are exactly the same... <---- You will be subject to the "Duplicate Content" theory.

It really depends on how Google reads the content that's on your site and on the other sites, whether they see it as duplicate or relevant. <---- No penalty here for Duplicate Content on your site, right? - Because the same articles that are on their sites, are NOT on your site.

I do not see how they could read it any other way, if i put the content on my site, then submit to 1000 others...would that not be duplicate content?
even if I did not post it on my blog and still submit it to 1000 sites, still duplicate...

I am still trying to find a decent article submit software...the one that I thought was a submitter turned
out to be a link submitter, and the other was a scam to get you to enter your email, so they can
put seoelite.com in your face...what is a good article submitter? not not looking to
submit to 1000's and 1000's - maybe just 300-400 directories would be fine.

ArticleBot by Incansoft has a pretty good reputation. By the way there is no need to be concerned about 'duplicate content' unless you have the exact same content appearing more than once on your own site. Think about it this way - if a world-famous person made an important speech it could be reported - verbatim - on millions of websites. Yes the content is 'duplicated' in as much as there are multiple copies of the same text, but because it is spread over all the different websites it is not an issue.

yes, it will be duplicate content but your site has the unique article as long as google index it first. you are not responsible for duplicate content on 3rd party sites.

think about it, if you could get penalized for duplicate content on article directories, then whats stopping your competitors to use some tools to submit 1 articles linking to your site to hundred of directories? it doesnt work that way. google does have their own stand on duplicate content but in reality, it is not that easy to enforce. how google would like to see things is quite different than how it works in real life.

yes, eventually some of your article pages on the article directories will get deindexed over time but thats all there is to it. you just keep submitting and dont worry too much.

regarding your spam comment concern, you can add a captcha plugin which will stop bots from making auto spam comments on your blog.

As i know, some article submitter software enable you to submit hundreds of article websites at a time. But it is not suggested to use those software, as they may generate a lot of duplicate content.

I don't think that submitting to 200 directories really helps you that much. I just go with the top 10 or 15 directories and not worry about the rest.

I wouldn't be too worried about it as long as it's a new site... It definitely won't hurt your ranking..

You can create a bot to submit your articles to as many directories as you want. But to be honest with you, submitting articles to a few of directories is your best bet. I personally only submit to the top article directories, such as ezinearticles, articlebase, buzzle, articlealley, searchwarp. As far as the Articles, maybe he outsources the work.
