You can confirm ownership by updating the DNS TXT Record of the domain via the Domain manager in Godaddy. Click on the Verify link at the top of this page where it says 'Verified.' You get some instructions then.

Oh, I see. You picked it up on the aftermarket and it isn't in your account. You do know that if the current owner decides to renew you won't get this domain, right? So even although it looks like it's going to become yours, you're really selling something you don't own yet which could cause you some problems if it falls through on the aftermarket?

Is there a high likelihood of that happening, because there seems to be numerous auctions held this way. What happens to the payments that have been made to the sellers of these domains? Paypal is absolutely no help.

I don't know about 'high likelihood' but it does happen. It has happened to me before. Just one of those things. Presumably you didn't buy it from a private seller on the aftermarket which is why you are having to wait, so that means the owner still has the opportunity to renew it.

I see a number of auctions here on DP where the seller is saying the domain will be "pushed" by a certain date. Presumably those purchases may be at risk as well. Because of all the fraud that goes on, sellers are not going to do the "pushing" until they have received payment. However, I wonder how many will return the money if the real owner decides to renew.
By the way where is "Sunny Scotland"

Dunno but I think it's time to bow out. Not really supposed to 'chit-chat' in sales threads. I only pointed out the Verify domain thing and then we got into a wee discussion about aftermarket stuff.
