Hosts to be aware of

This thread is dedicated to raising issues that people have had with their host companies. Its goal is to put as much information into one place about DPs users hosts as possible. It will not be much use if people start making recommendations as that will be seen as spam.

I have had a number of issues with:
ukhost4u.co.uk

First issue: They make it very difficult to transfer domains (not a good way of keeping customers)

Second issue: They have made changes to the server settings with out emailing any of their customers. For example, they suddenly decided to upgrade mysql without actually letting any of their customers know. Thus my store and two forums were broken (bastards!)

Put simply, don't try and cut corners with web hosting. You get what you pay for, that's for sure.

 

Well you should also look how cheap their website looks.

 

one nevers know... but the fact is with the quantity of online marketing promotions the quality is definately going down... just because of too many small interprises.
